Some people grind all day long and It's totally fine in my opinion. Everyone has a different mindset, some people really like to open up a bar, have relationships, get married and roleplay stuff like that. I personally  roleplay for more than a damn decade and never bought a super-car or a 3 story house but that's just me. I don't really care If I have a million or 2k in my bank account, I'll still try to portray a realistic character. However, If you have free time and none of your friends are online, I think grinding is absolutely fine.

Some people gonna try to be rich, some people gonna try to rob people. And also It's the rich people who don't give a shit about money, they tip the bartenders, they tip the taxi drivers, they tip YOU when you try to sell them drugs, or It's THEIR car you're trying to break in and chop.

I think everybody should be way richer so they can portray their characters more realistically without stockpiling. Because lacking money and assets make you more vulnerable and hostile in conflicts. People /q because they don't want to lose their one and only glock. People start cussing in /b because they don't want their 100grams of coke stolen. But If they were rich enough, they wouldn't give a shit, they'd just RP and go on with their day.

Look at cops. You can shoot them, hit them with your car 150 times, rob them, whatever you want but they STILL keep on rping, because at the end of the day they lose almost nothing. They know it in their hearts so they don't give a shit. You can kidnap a fucking SWAT team leader by yourself with a knife and he still keeps on roleplaying, please try to kidnap a leader of a rival gang with 8 people armed with shotguns and tell me how much time It takes for that homie to answer a single /do.....

I think money is a must-have and richer the people get, It gets easier for them to lose in RP situations. Being rich balances the roleplay quality very well, and also we all know that If you pull up to a hood with a bugatti and try to join them, nobody would like you to be around. You don't say that you have 800k in your bank account to your OG or mob boss. It's a really good unspoken rule between the community for years.

I think the inherent assumption with this approach of letting people have that money early on (taking away any grind at all) is that players will just RP a stupid rich character with poor portrayal. I think that if done correctly with a proper RP quality management approach this would be much more successful than people give the idea credit for. Very good points 👍

It could work on a smaller scale. On GTA World, though, you'd need a huge team that would handle these things almost exclusively, since there would be a huge amount of characters (both new people and already-existing people with new characters) that would not only be created, but also require supervision to make sure they're actually following what they promised to do.

It would also destroy whatever economy you'd be able to have, since you would never be able to have a relatively fixed amount of money around, so inflation would become a huge issue, and there would be a huge risk of people wanting to portray sutpidly rich characters - even if there would be some normal ones, there would be way too many of these other ones (which would also likely be low-quality or straight-up unrealistic). It would also kind of stop working when someone demands ten billion dollars or wants to role-play as Tony Stark's equilvanet.

I don't know, I haven't noticed everyone has a crazy amount of money, sure — there will always be people who grind, but I saw less of them here than on any other community I was on. Money's easy to make via RP, and that's how it should be, based on what you roleplay. From my experience everyone makes money just roleplaying what they want to, ranging from drug dealers to legal contractors, everyone makes a good amount of cash without needing to grind scriptwise jobs.

In my opinion prices for items are totally OK, and the taxes system might need a bit of tweaking. The 200.000 you get for the 50 hours is just a to get started fund and trust me, it's literally only to get an OK property to RP from and a decent car. The rest is on you, which is totally fine by me. I personally don't view it as a problem.

Short answer: Too easy to make money (not necessarily a bad thing) and people don't care enough to keep themselves to a high standard. Some just need a little guidance, others straight up don't care about the portrayal and it shows. It's easy to tell if a person doesn't care about development, mainly by how they behave IC and how in-depth their character's personality is.

We need to teach people how to portray their wealth correctly and take a close look at players that portray their wealth poorly. For example those hundreds of teenagers and characters in their early twenties with 3 sport cars and a house.

We don't have hundred of teenagers with 3 sportscars when most of them are in gangs. That aside, not to defend such lifestyle, but hell we are living in Los Santos, which in GTA universe is center of all things entertainment. So let's begin with people portraying musicians or artists, then move onto people who could be interested in portraying actors or even porn actors or actresses and finish it with the new type of better paid young people aka youtubers and twitch streamers. There you go. You don't need to be a businessman well into his 40s to drive an expensive car. As long as you can have solid scripted income, just rp having couple of millions subscribers tucked away in your Youtube channel and you can technically buy such car. Age does not matter in 21st century. You'd think my character who just turned 22 this year and is living bit more luxurious lifestyle got their money from scripted job? Actually wait my character does, but they are an artist and my choice of portrayal is a celebrity tattoo artist. The thing people should tone down, is the portayal of Gomorrah style wealthy teenagers who draw guns in arguments and shoot back whenever there's a brawl.

Well I can tell you have never roleplayed in any gang on the server. If you did, you'd know that there are a lot of teenagers in South Central that own a sports car but still slang 5 grams of weed on a corner. Which makes no sense. That's why they need a bit of help on how to portray their character's wealth properly.

On the other note, it's not that simple to just say: "Oh I'm portraying a youtuber so my 5 mils in the bank are justified". It's like selling one gram of coke and saying: "I'm portraying a drug lord so I can drive my 500k car through Davis". You actually have to make the IC effort to be able to portray such wealth, make it as realistic and believable as possible.

No you don't really have to make IC effort as long as you can portray how are you making the money required for your lifestyle. It's roleplay we are talking about not game progression. Roleplaying a concept doesn't necessarily mean you have to start from a zero and make it up to a hero. I for instance rp'd a different concept before renaming the character and portraying actual concept I wanted. Yes my advantage is, that I have a lucrative job on top of it. But I begun already with few hundred thousands. My point being, you don't really have to roleplay earning those money as long as you can justify your wealth and portray it properly. Why I think this way? Cause many concepts are simply impossible to portray IG, given GTA setting is quite limited script-wise and nobody will simply send you money as twitch subs or donations. No if you wanna roleplay something different from usual club, shop owners or investors, you gotta think outside the box. But we are talking about proper portrayal. If it's poor portrayal, then simply report that, same as with any other poor portrayal.
