Regulate property flipping and the wealth will go down significantly.

No, it won't & the reason for that is when you buy a house from another player, you don't 'create' wealth, you just transfer it.

At any particular time, there is a set amount of total wealth in the economy which is the sum of all plays bank balances & assets (inventory items / vehicles / property etc).

The server is in a constant state of hyper-inflation because every few months, many hundreds of millions are created out of thin air and pushed into the economy. This creates the inflation you see in the economy and the constant increasing of house prices and the increasing number of super rich characters etc.

To actually reduce overall wealth, what you would need to do is significantly reduce the rate at which 'magic money' is added to the economy or implement taxes which offset the money that is 'created from nothing'.

You are on the right track, but this goes the other way around as well. Every month, hundreds of millions are magically pulled out of the economy as well, by characters being deleted, and accounts going inactive. The problems are;

  1. The (im)balance between these two, which is currently unknown.
  2. Active players taking money from this balance
  3. Not having enough money sinks present to counterbalance number 2

You're right on the solutions though.

Reduce generated money;

$175.000 instead of $200.000

$500 instead of $800 (unemployment)

Tax existing money;

Double the existing 0.0001% wealth tax
