Information: Character Kills

character kill (CK) is when someone's character is permanently killed and they are unable to continue roleplaying on that character. If rules are broken during any form of character kill, they may be contested in game. There are different forms of a character kill that are admissible on the server.

— 1. Self CK

— 2. Foe CK

— 3. Jail CK

— 4. Fear CK

— 5. Faction CK

— 6. Application CK

Be advised: If you or someone you gave character kill permissions of another player to die during the execution of the character kill, you will be character killed instead. For example, your application gets accepted but when you shoot them, they manage to kill you first. You are character killed, they are able to survive if still alive.

Be advised: A breach of rules while executing a character kill results in the situation being voided.

— 1. Self CK

A self CK is when you make a /report for your own character to be killed. For example, your character was shot and killed and you want to character kill your character. This is something you choose for yourself and you accept the fact you will need to name-change that slot in order to continue with assets. It does not matter if someone else killed you, if they killed you without your CK permissions, and you choose to CK, it is a self CK.

  • This cannot be appealed, once you've done it, it's done and final.
  • You must not have a pending court case.
  • You must not have been recently arrested and serving in TTCF (14 days since arrest/sentencing at least).
  • Any suicide is a CK and not a PK.
  • You do not get a free name-change.

— 2. Foe CK

You can give someone else your character kill permissions, usually in the form of a message which confirms you understand what you are doing, for example:

  • I, YOUR UCP NAME, give THEIR UCP NAME permission to character kill my character YOUR CHARACTER NAME if deemed necessary by THEIR CHARACTER NAME.

This is not the only form of writing that is accepted, but generally you need to confirm what character you're giving permissions of and who to, as well as explicitly stating it is CK permissions.

  • You cannot withdraw CK permissions after granting them to someone, they remain permanently.
  • You should try get an admin to spectate this if possible.
  • You can appeal.
  • You do not get a free name-change.

— 3. Jail CK

Within TTCF, Twin Towers Correctional Facility, leaders of each of the Cars may submit a character kill request on you, similar to an application, however permissions are much easier to be granted. Fear within the jail and realistic roleplay is excessively important in order to maintain the balance of realism within the jail.

— 4. Fear CK

Fear roleplay is important on the server due to the fact you should reasonably fear someone when your character is put in a situation in which they may lose their life. If someone is reckless while reasonably expected to roleplay fear, they may be liable to be fear CK'd under powergaming rules. For example; someone has a gun to you and you continue to taunt them without reason, or bait them to PK you. You may be liable to a CK.

  • Any admin level 4+ may approve a fear CK without an application after an in-game report.
  • You may submit a fear CK application to have someone CK'd after a situation if there was a lack of fear.
  • You can appeal.
  • You do not get a free name-change.

— 5. Faction CK

A faction CK is exclusive to factions that have a script, this does not apply to unofficial groups. Unofficial groups must get individual permissions under the "Foe CK" guidelines.

  • If 50%+ of the active insiders wish to character kill the leader, an administration permission request must be sent with all names and will be approved.
  • If a takeover is to happen, you have to contact IFM to get the permission (can PM @Shanks & @honey.).

You are liable to be character killed by faction leadership with good reasoning if any of the following criteria is met:

  • You have posted roleplay on their thread representing them.
  • You have at any point been within their faction script in-game.
  • You have at any point granted someone within that faction your character kill permissions.
  • You can appeal.
  • You do not get a free name-change.

Factions may add additional criteria however this should be made explicitly clear on their thread and approved by IFM.

— 6. Application CK

In summary, an application CK is when you have applied for a CK on another player and it has been accepted by IFM.

You can appeal these but please read the extended information on the thread to get a better understanding.
