Life of Maksym

BkzURn3.png

Prologue:

Two brothers born to an ethnically Ukrainian mother that moved to the United States in 1992. The brothers were born just two years apart to the same mother but unknown father(s).  They were raised for the first few years of their life in West Vinewood, an area known for a decent bit of Russian heritage, but the pair would settle into an  poverty stricken and decaying apartment complex in East Vinewood, an area of the city that at one time had an Ukrainian Heritage Center and Ukrainian Orthodox Church when their mother fled from her abusive relationship.

The brothers grew up in East Vinewood, an area that is more known for gang activity from local black and Hispanic street gangs than Ukrainian heritage, in a general poor area of the city. They were exposed to petty crime, shoplifting, graffiti, and more, from an early age just from the influences of the area. The brothers would quickly ruin their futures with run-ins with the cops for a variety of petty offenses.

Maksym Hrytsenko:

Traits(strengths): Courageous, Loyal, Persistent.

Flaws: Callous, Arrogant, Pessimist,  Alcoholic, Drug Addict.

Maksym Hrytsenko was the oldest of the two brothers in the Hrytsenko family. Even though he was just one year younger than his only sibling, he grew up bearing the responsibility of being the 'bread-winner' for his brother and mother due to having no father figure around the house. His childhood was less than ideal as he saw a first hand view of what poverty was like.

He dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen and began to hangout with the local youths of East Vinewood. He would pick up a simple minimum wage job at a local burger joint but ultimately would be fired due to stealing from the cash registers during his shifts. This would only lead to Maksym racking up more petty offenses especially when his brother subsequently dropped out of high school a year later.

Maksym would be completely absorbed into the culture of the West Coast and he picked up some peckerwood ideologies along the way. He also kept his Eastern European roots from his beloved mother that was heavily involved in the Ukrainian community and taught her sons Ukrainian and Russian.

Due to Maksym effectively ruining his future scholastic and job prospects due to his petty offenses and dropping out of high school, he has very little prospects in life at the moment aside from minimum wage jobs and the overwhelming pressure to commit crime to earn money.
