Difference between LSRP & GTAW.

The first thing I noticed when I moved here from LSRP in 2019 (with most LSRPers) is that the faction scene was behind a few years compared to what was on LSRP in 2019. That's probably because GTA:W itself was basically a pretty new server. LSRP had well over a decade to deveolnoticed that a large portion of people in the illegal RP scene (gangs especially) actually don't have heavy RP experience before coming to GTA:W, alot of gang roleplayers are from roblox RP or are just entirely new.

for some reason ERP is something a lot of people like to do. A mixture of Sims and Second Life into a role play server on GTA. I’ve even seen suggestions been made to get specific animations implented to make it more realistic. I have never been a fan of the actual in depth ERP. I do like to visit a club or a party w/e but the ERP here on World is 500% what it ever was on LSRP. The majority of ex LSRP players probably remember what happened to Krisk and how far he took it. The server should take these people in protection and although it is completely uncontrollable to see how old someone is behind their PC when a specific RP is being created and it is almost impossible to ban out “ ERP “ im just saying that in my opinion I hope to see the server evolve from the classic ERP and focus more on the actual role play the server has to offer without these ridiculous requests for sex animations and the 100s of escort advertisements we see every day.

I personally think E-RP is just awkward and can be a borderline legal issue. Sexual roleplay could easily be something agreed upon and happen off-screen, at least that's what I'd do. I try to avoid it on my characters but I've found that some people try to IC apply pressure one way or another for it to happen.

Not sure if you got this while you weren't on this server, but I've yet to see a single player from Second Life in the 10 000+ people I talked to in 4 years here.

I think he's saying that because when the server was still new, majority of the playerbase came from LS-RP (and everyone seemed to know each other), while the remainder came from either RC-RP, NGRP, PR-RP, Valhalla Gaming, and to a lesser extent, any kind of Garry's Mod RP game mode.

But today's playerbase seem to be completely different. There are obviously a lot of players who have recently moved from SAMP servers, but it also seems like there are brand new roleplayers, or roleplayers from totally different games. Second Life has a big roleplay scene, and it's different to something like Habbo, but a few years back you wouldn't see many people doing casual/passive RP alone by themselves, whereas now it's more common. That's just an example though.

I've been away for a few years, but the vibe has certainly changed (not for the worst, in case you're wondering about my opinion). I can't put my finger on why it's different, however.

The staff team of LSRP treated the player base like garbage. They seemed to forget there is a human being on the other side. A staff team should act as something similar to customer service with the intent of teaching and helping players and not just punishing them for the sake of punishing. They never or rarely admitted their mistakes and it seemed more like a regime than anything else.

I've been on LSRP since 2012. Loved every minute of it, but I wasn't blind to the steady decline of quality and players. We had a period where I was really, really invested in LSRP. The mutual respect was there (on an OOC level) and it was an all-round good time to vibe with people.

But what I lacked on LSRP was a solid, efficiently working admin team and above all. Transparency between the highest echelons of management and the regular playerbase. Something I'm glad GTA:W learned from.

I spent majority of this month away from home, dealing with the floodings that occured on the Belgian-German-Luxembourg border area's. And was only keeping up via forums on the state of the server. The daily updates of Nervous and the staff team made me feel like I was up-to-date on everything that was going on, what was tried, what worked, what didn't, what the next step was, and ultimately, the solution.

Mind you, GTA:W has it's own issues and gremlins, while the admin team is generally approachable. They do seem to be far to lenient on people who are deliberately disruptive and outright toxic towards other people.

As a pre-dominantly LEO RP'er. I've had issues with people who have nothing better to do than to provoke, perform blatant non-rp actions, superman their way out of 4 people holding them down, T-boning, flipping cars yet continue going like nothing ever happened. I feel admins should be more liberal with handing out temp bans, or harsher punishments than a 30 minute ajail. Cause if you have people who prefer 30 minute ajails over a prison sentence icly, dealing with people in prison then there's a fundamental issue with people's mentality towards consequences for their actions.

Also, people robbing others, and those that do not have money end up getting kidnapped out in the county for whatever reason and executed there. Or end up getting shot whilst trying to run. People are alot more trigger happy, and generally the escalation goes from 0-10-100 percent real quick. Killing people seems to be the go-to response for alot of people when it really is unnecessary in most of the cases.

In essence however, I'm enjoying GTA:W alot more compared to the later years of LSRP, and the primary reason I feel contributing to that, is a healthy (number-wise) playerbase, respectfull and competent admin team and management providing near-daily updates to the game, in the form of bug fixes, new content and overall keeping the experience fresh.

I was just super disappointed in the 2016+ management team with Surreal & co where I was basicly treated like shit (same for everyone else if you were a regular player I guess).

I still remember the month when Surreal hunted down people who left LS-RP for GTAW for whatever reason and harassed / banned them from the community.

Now, I don't recall very well how LS-RP was during the DamianC's era as I was not active within the community's forum. However, I was active in-game and I had a blast. The server was fun. Everything went downhill when DamianC was removed.

What GTAW has that other English RP communities don't have is; friendly community, active and friendly staff team, active development teams and a caring and/or respectful owner.

From my experience, characters on GTA:W seem a lot more easily disposable. People are quite fine to just name change often and recycle the same concept of the previous character over and over.

In the process of getting a 2018 charge expunged, my lawyer told me OOC that the process doesn't happen too often because the lifespan of most players' characters here maxes out at around six months. I could believe it, sticking to the same character can be exhausting. Since coming back the only familiar face I've seen was Late's character, and mine knew him IC in 2018 so it was a nice reunion.

I very much enjoyed how things were kept IC on LSRP. I was never part of mixing or witnessed anybody digging for me on an OOC level.

When it comes to GTA World? People have a tendency to shift things out of character, and then prioritize OOC friendship over roleplay, or worse in some cases. People need to realize that you are logging in this game to roleplay and kill some time, by portraying a portion of your character's day in their life. You are not here to portray what they think you should, and some players should also realize that I am not here to make friends with somebody who most likely has zero things that interest me. It's not so hard to understand. Give a contribution to the game, and play it properly.

Having played LSRP since 2009 I can tell you it's exactly the same. The OOC circle between factions and the like killed the drug economy and weapons.
