The issue is that currently, at a glance, the acts are indistinguishable from what much of the public accept as a common occurrence in the GTA game titles in general. Those shootings? That sex? It all happens in an adult background, with apartments, bars, exercise gyms, and even office buildings. People will not immediately know that it is kids doing the mattress mambo, as there is literally nothing but barely visible lines of text that rarely even mention age when committing the act.

 

Do it in a school setting however, and it becomes a school shooting, hence the term - school shooting.

 

At a glance now, it is people being gunned down in a school, which as pointed out before, is a massively touchy subject for modern American society, and.a wildly volatile political topic. If Mass Effect didn't even need actual sexual scenes to be accused for being a porn simulator, what do you think people are going to say when footage they see genuine footage of someone sweeping through a school environment leaving dozens of bodies in their wake?

quit comparing a high school to movies/tv shows and start comparing it to real life. watch a documentary or something. i understand wanting to compare it to the wire, but that show is from the 2000s and a lot of things have changed regarding culture, security and school in america. esp post 2012 sandy hook. high school or not.

there are also a tonnnnn of vlogs from public highschool students on youtube. 

 

highschools don't get shot up everyday, there aren't fights every single day, maybe weekly or bi weekly at a very populated public school but it's nothing security can't handle. don't overcomplicate it. make it fun, but make it an asset for illegal rpers to help develop a good, young char.

People aren't routinely mugged three times a night either. There is simply not enough self-restraint evident to warrant allowing any presence of guns in a high school environment.

I agree completely. Go with the simple and easy solution and hard-code the disabling if any firearms near or on the campus. Then we can have fun and enjoy the high school scene without risk of becoming some new scandal for the news to talk about.

They're going to see footage of a simulated environment, same as the other situations. You see though, one of these is also a crime, another isn't. We not talkin politics here brother

Then they're going to start asking questions, like "Why is this streamer killing a bunch of people in a school?" and then they'll find out that those people were, in the words of the roleplayers behind the characters, children...

I think you should focus your time on the thing that actually meets the criteria for a plethora of crimes across multiple continents and has a real impact on the victims of the exploitative experiences, rather than personal opinion based (not yours but theoretical viewers) and political issues. Anyways I'm out have a good one.

We don't need this level of attention. I would personally prefer we not have minors at all,  but that isn't going to change.

 

So, at the very least we can get ahead of the disaster by coding in the inability to use guns on the school campus.

I'd map a school but the question is where and why? As stated every character under 18 is by server rules a gangbanger in the making. I'm not sure I trust a rule change to allow weirdos to play 12 year old kids.

Honestly a rulechange would be neccesary and if that happens, participation in the high school could be made somewhat mandatory. If people behave I wouldn’t call them weirdos, just dont commit Rule 19 violations for obvious reasons.

People constantly complain that gang rpers do nothing but DM eachother, but when there's a suggestion that might improve gang RP and give characters a source of development the complaints start flooding in...can't please some people.

 

I think it would be a great addition to the gang scene that is desperately lacking in substantial roleplay.
