I don't think making a general discussion post over a report is how to respond to this. You're better off reaching out to staff but since this topic is already posted...

I think shooting at the car is stupid. However, I think that it was a stupid response to a stupid "roleplay" scene.

A "sideshow" is a group of people who gather and block off an intersection or parkinglot for the purpose of putting on a show for the crowd, which is usually donuts and burnouts. What this person was doing was not a sideshow, but general trolling and just..fail roleplay. It doesn't make sense to take your car to a neighborhood you don't know (let alone a gang neigborhood)and start doing burnouts with no crowd and only serving to draw attention to police. It's not even drifting either. They are causing property damage to a private residential neighborhood where the people who live there have a great amount of respect for neighborhood. Sideshows don't happen randomly in people's residential neighborhoods, they're planned and arranged and usually done at populated intersections or parkinglots.

It's possible that if this person was banned, it was over an extensive history and not just this one event. But again, making a general discussion post isn't the way to approach  a punishment you don't agree with.

Perfectly understand, thanks for your opinion ill keep my head out for things like that, just was curious about how people would feel the same as me.

Basically, I was watching a video on GTA:W about a guy doing donuts and drifting around a neighborhood he stay's by in, he wasn't really bothering anyone besides the fact that he was doing a small side-show with his friend, mid-way of doing his little show, a white car pull's up and begins to try and block him off just reversing, and trying to block his way for some reason and he eventually attempts to tell them move around and he tries to continue his show, but a lady walks mid-way in the road and almost get's hit, kicking his bumper, he reverses and they pull up next to his and brandishes fire-arms at him, he then proceeds to hit the gas, and take off away from the block, he then spins back, but with another person he drifts around again, but notices a admin is with them, he proceeds to wait to get teleported, because he realizes that the other party called them in basically saying that they 'VDM'ed' and was lacking 'Fear' due to them brandishing a gun? [But your saying that he's in the wrong for taking off, like he didn't have a opportunity and gate-way to escape for his life ((I Would've done the same)) but it was brought that they we're shot at, but in the video I didn't see anyone or anything get shot at. The administrators also brought up that there's a video clip of him getting shot at, at the same block over drifting --- Also brought up saying that they VDM'ed and considered him and a group of friend's a 'Drifting Crew' BUT why would they get shot at over drifting make's no sense what's-so-ever. ] [Also found out that the girl shot at them, that's why they counted it as fear, but I am just curious why they shot, apparently, she shot at them and then someone hit her with the car ((Maybe just a life-or-death situation)) which still doesn't come to me why the person shot, I have no idea it kind of just make's me think the situation is kind of weird.]

Let me help you.

The guy doing donuts went to Strawberry/Davis, where getting shot at happens a lot.

In Strawberry/Davis, people often rp irritable and aggressive characters, and he went there and did annoying things, like donuts in front of the people who lived there.

So the girl told him to leave, he didn't leave, so she started shooting at the car.  This is not surprising for characters who live in Strawberry/Davis.  The car left, appropriately roleplaying fear.

The girl is walking later, and a different car, a black car, blatantly VDMs her.  This was obviously against the rules, but it's really about who gets caught.

The girl, after having been hit by the car, failed to rp injuries and instead jumps up, draws her gun and starts firing.  This is also against the rules, but hey, that doesn't matter.

Both cars, the black car that VDM'd the girl and the orange and black car that was doing the donuts, leave.  They rp'd fear appropriately, since they both left when the girl started shooting.

Conclusions:

The girl shot at the car doing donuts because she was an aggressive criminal character in a fairly lawless area of Strawberry/Davis.  Shooting at the black and orange car was probably not out of character for her.  She gave the driver a verbal warning first.  She probably would have shot the drivers of both cars to death if that wouldn't have been against the rules as Poor Escalation / Deathmatching.

  • if the driver of the VDM car gets banned, he's probably getting banned for blatantly VDMing someone, according to the rules, not because of drifting and donuts.  We all know we're not supposed to VDM, but some people don't give a shit.  He was probably angry about his friend getting shot at.

  • If the driver of the orange and black doing-donuts car gets banned, it might be because the admins perceived he was knowingly involved with the VDM against the girl, not because of drifting or doing donuts.

  • Don't go to Strawberry/Davis unless you want to shoot and get shot.  What did he think was going to happen?

I dunno, I always drive through and it's fine...

Of course, it all depends on who's there, what they feel like doing, and whether or not one is driving through or screwing around.

basically this, it's fine if you're being normal rather than being what i call a "provocative player"

we've all seen one, someone that joins the server and is always looking to provoke players in game, or stir as much shit as possible or get into fights; they can't be surprised when people shoot/attack them

Agreed with this. Provocative players do definitely exist (unnecessarily obnoxious, clearly allowing OOC sentiments seep into their characters' actions), but the difference is there's justification for being shot if they're found doing stupid stuff in south LS.

As a normal person minding their own business during the day, there's not really much to worry about.

Yes, I feel you about this person hitting but, was there really a reason to shoot at someone for doing donuts? I don't know it's just i've never really seen anything like that happen IRL or even on video. [[Person shooting someone for doing donuts in their neighborhood]]

Was there a reason for someone doing donuts in a neighbourhood?

I've never really seen it in real life. Granted, I've seen people do them in open spaces, but in neighbourhoods it's so rare that surely it cannot be considered RP.

This isn't a rare occasion either - there are countless moments where people just decide to OOC mess around. I would've thought the time for that was long gone by now.

I mean, after being warned, on numerous occasions, it'd be reasonable. They told the person to leave, on several occasions. Words didn't work, so fear did.
