The following thread's purpose is to document the lives of the Romero brothers.

The Romero brothers are natives of Jalisco, Mexico born into a poor household. Their father worked in construction and their Mother worked at a store not far from their home. Their Mother was actually a US citizen but moved back to her parents hometown after they were deported and took her with them. The four brothers grew up in poverty but had a good childhood, their parents did all they could for them to make sure they never went without what they needed. Their father was a very prideful man, a real trabajador, full of machismo and morals. The years went on and the brothers grew older, which lead them to finally make the choice of moving to the USA. With their Mother being a US citizen they were eligible for citizenship, they were under 18 at the time.

Eventually, they made it to the states. The four brothers would settle down in a relatives home and grow up around their cousins and friends in South Central Los. Things were fine, they were happy and living in the land of opportunity, but come on... We all know about gang culture and the rifeness of it within youth. One of the brothers was getting dangerously tight with a neighbourhood gang at the time, Varrio Paragons 13. He'd go out and do graffiti, tattoo his friends for a couple of bucks and get by like that. The others did their thing too, some were involved with drug dealing, robbery and other illegal activities. No matter what though? The brothers always remained close. They never forgot their roots neither. Some of the brothers would soon become involved with the gang life and do time for various crimes such as assault, possession etc.

However, with the sweep of gang culture in the state and a crackdown on a number of neighbourhood gangs, the varrio they were associated with would soon fall defunct due to a series of arrests and cases, including gang injunctions. The family still had to eat, so here they are, present day. Doing what they can to get by and put food on the table.
