Implement LSPD Vice Squad

Short description:

 

Create a Vice Squad division for the LSPD to eradicate criminal prostitution.

 

Detailed description:

 

• LSPD forms a vice squad.
• Vice cops would create throwaway alts as necessary, which is ICly a disguise.  This is necessary because there OOCly aren't enough officers to keep prostitutes from recognizing them all.  If not, there could be a disguise mask item that only changes the characters name to an alias name.
• The vice squad would answer all the "ERP alt looking for monies before changing name" ads, and conduct a sting.  As soon as the prostitute makes an incriminating statement by discussing sex for money, the vice cop arrests the individual, and the support squad moves in.  The support squad is also there to arrest anyone who tries to set up the undercover cop.
• The vice squad could also pay ordinary characters to answer the ads, and rp wearing a wire so the cops could bust in when the deal goes down.
• The vice squad could even work with criminal characters by paying them or dropping some charges in return for going undercover to save Los Santos from the Plague of Hoes (cue games of thrones music).
• The ERP alts wouldn't make any money, and prostitution ads would decline if not cease.
• Once the ERP alts slither back to their holes, the brave officers of the LSPD Vice Squad could target businesses like massage parlors, strip clubs, and any other business which could be harboring prostitutes and conduct sting operations.
• The City Council could pass new laws massively increasing fines for prostitution and consorting with prostitution, and then get prostitutes they've busted to wear wires so the vice squad can bust the johns and flush their money back into the GTAW economy.  Massive fines for prostitutes would also reduce the rewards for make-ERP-alt-hoe-get-monies-change-name non-rp, and hopefully break the cycle which traps so many innocent ERP alts.

 

Commands to add:

 

Create laws to increase fines for prostitution related crimes.

Create /wire command to allow police to listen to a character's conversations without other individuals knowing.

/maskdisguise only changes the character's name to an alias of the player's choosing, doesn't change the character's appearance.

 

Items to add:

 

If necessary, Disguise Mask.  It works like a mask, except all it does is change the character's name to an alias name that the player types in.  Only available to law enforcement, and misuse carries ooc punishment.  This is only one way to go about things, allowing law enforcement players to make throwaway alts is another and that wouldn't require any new items or commands.

 

How would your suggestion improve the server?

 

• This would create massive new rp for LSPD. 
• It would flush massive amounts of money back into the in game economy by imposing massive fines on hoes, pimps, and tricks.
• It would create rp for illegal rpers by the LSPD hiring them as snitches elite public decency crusaders helping to bust prostitutes in sting operations.
• It would create rp for illegal rpers by driving prostitutes back to streetwalking and the pimp game.  
• It would create rp for players who are legitimately interested in rping a prostitute dealing with all the dangers and drama of street life.
• It would increase the time and effort and decrease the rewards of playing a money-grubbing name-changing ERP alt, leading to a decrease of this on the server, in accordance with Rule 19, specifically de-sexualization of the server.

Pretty sure such similar squad exists as Detective Bureau or w/e it is.

Making this an OOC thing and using the LSPD to eliminate a valid and realistic form of RP in favor of criminal factions and pretending we live in the 90s is certainly one possible approach to take, I guess...

I'm all for a vice squad being created, but not this suggestion. I understand where your coming from and I do think your right about a few things but what you've suggested would create a unit that's undefeatable by criminal enterprises and would remove a huge amount of character development. I'm supposed to spend weeks developing a escort business only to be taken down by an alt character that was specifically created to target me and I'm unable to counter? Absolutely not.

 

I think a much more productive solution would be to create a vice squad with dedicated detectives but relax the 'realism' parameters to allow basically any patrol officer who vice thinks would fit to work as bait. I get it's some movie bullshit but at least it allows the goals your trying to reach to be achieved while not also being extremely overpowered.

VICE in PD already exists. Only thing that could further help the VICE section in PD would be the RICO Act in GTAW.

Anything that doesn't give them an incredibly overpowered upper hand and doesn't defeat the purpose of character development.

 

This isn't a cops and robbers server.

 

Edit: I also clearly stated in my original reply what I think is a better alternative, just saying.
