The "2nd hand players" are much much better for Wales because Wales and Switzerland competed for the 2nd spot and 3rd spot with the sole GD, which Wales got 2nd spot on the group for (quite sure the final stands are Italy, Wales, Switzerland and Turkey). If Italy scored more, it would've gone hard. A simple 3-0 would've put Wales and Switzerland on the same par in terms of GD and well, Switzerland would've won from the Goals For then.
