The Thompson Family resides and works out of Los Santos, San Andreas. They are a modern, upper class, American family who have a decent amount of money and own a winery in the city of Los Santos. The Family itself is long rooted in Los Santos, having moved to it more than forty years ago when Albert Thompson upped roots to give his family a better start in life, one he never had. Albert managed to buy the family some fertile land and to this day have created and shipped their own brand of wine throughout the city from their winery in La Mesa. This business is what the family have lived off for many years before it was handed down to Albert’s children after who’d kept it running and profitable. These days however, the profits they turn aren't exactly putting food on the table due to the size of the family and the lack of interest from today's generation for expensive wine. So James Thompson, Maverick Thompson and Yeardley Thompson have started looking at more ways to boost their income in order to provide a life of comfort and luxury for the whole family. Be this through legitimate means, or illegitimate. Wine sales have been dropping for a while and the loss of money is putting pressure on the three heirs. The loss of their Grandpa's winery, family legacy and their comfortable life would destroy them.

Los Santos is jam packed with crime and there is a lot of money to be made by anyone smart enough and careful enough to venture into it. The Thompson Family will be breaking bad to take advantage of the easy money on offer within Los Santos. Greed and a need to leave a long lasting legacy that would bring honor to their Grandfather will be the driving factor surrounding their transition into the illegal side of business. They'll also be handling a legal front in order to keep the illegal activities hidden from the public eye and to launder their dirty money. The Thompson Family will be seen as legal, upstanding and a respected family by businesses and the higher class of civilians in the city however they hide their darkest secrets behind closed doors, only accessible to those who find themselves at the Thompson dinner table each week.

The Thompson Family will operate on a hierarchy of members, be that blood related or people brought into the family through hard work and respect. The layers and ranks are as follows,

Guardian

Employee

Outsiders

Family Heads - These three run the family from the background. Any changes, or new ventures will go through them before any moves are made. Any new family members MUST be accepted by these three. You will have to earn respect before they'll allow it. They can choose to have you killed at any time, for any reason. (Though it won't be for silly things!)

They are the image of the family, people outside the family will know them as friendly, legal, respectful and wealthy. You do not meet the Family Heads until all family members allow it.

Family Member - These are the Legal front owners and runners of the illegal activities. They are the ones who think up new strategies to make money either way. They are the most respected in the family and can help you make a lot of money should they think you are trustworthy. It will be hard to meet these members if outside the family as they are often always busy with their ventures and making the money.

Guardian - The muscle, the brawn and the people who protect the family from harm. These are the people who deal with outside and internal troubles. Guardians will oversee Outsider progression and organize goon squads to carry out the families dirty work, no questions asked. Guardians are the ones will decide if outsiders are worthy of meeting the family.

Employees - Self explanatory. Anyone working for any Family business in the legal front. These people are very well looked after and provided for. The Family respects and cares for their employees as if they were family. They won't often be told of any illegal activities. This is the best place to start if you wish to become part of the family.

Outsiders - People who are interested in working for the Family illegally and are proving themselves. This is the HARDEST way to get into the family. You will have to show you are competent to the family and do so without bringing heat to the family. You will vanish if any Police come knocking at the Thompson's door. Outsiders will also have it's own internal rank structure as you prove yourself to the family. From Associate all the way to BOSS. The more money you bring in through illegal means, the more respect you gain which gifts you access to the family eventually.

OOC Information - The idea and general concept behind this family is to create a group and then official faction catered around quality and welcoming role play, be that illegal OR legal, while playing a male OR female character, American or otherwise. Due to this being a FAMILY concept there is far more wiggle room to get everyone involved with characters people really want to make, as long as they are created with quality role play and realism in mind.

This is a new concept faction, created and organized by myself, @Karner and @Drew McCallum. We believe the way this group will be structured will really allow people who are interested to get involved in a way they are comfortable with. We are supportive, active and critical when it comes to role play quality. You can be sure that all members of this group/faction will be monitored and players dealt with should that quality slip.
