If you get scammed, report it. It makes RP easier. Would you go through the hastle of reporting people constantly who scam you as a car dealer? No. Sure, they can pass you a key, but that's not going to work all the time. It'll make RPing easier for most of us and has a positive impact on the car dealing as well. I bet you would want to lessen the amount of RP not raise it. Removing /vstats for being available to everyone was a good idea, but just make it showable. Then the car dealers and sellers can RP showing the car details and actually be able to get working out with it. Besides, what assures you that people do not abuse the dupkey thing? You can just /vpark the car and delete their key if they don't want to buy the car and that's even more abuse, personally. You would not need a car key IRL to see the car's information, especially the information about it. But that's just my opinion, really. Link to comment

That's not roleplaying. Nothing is stopping anyone from creating IC documentation. Sure, this is a QoL issue, but lets not pretend that 95% of the buyers dont abuse it as a shortcut to get the information, instead of roleplaying. Link to comment

Should be dealt with an admin, otherwise this should be considered IC documentation of the car. And make documents? That DMV option where you have to drive to the DMV to just get a list of previous owners, which is just ownership list, not the information of the car. Link to comment

I understand all of these things are extra steps, but that's part of roleplay. You might maintain high standards of roleplay, but the system needs to be idiot proof. Link to comment

Why should I have to MAKE a note for something that comes WITH the car when you originally buy it from a dealership brand new said note is the pink-slip issued by the government mind you when you register the car to get it road-legal with a license plate. Meaning /vstats is the pink-slip. Link to comment
Hawken
Fully support this suggestion, it makes sense. The recent changes are annoying for people who RP purchasing vehicles, as I find the vstats on this server to be somewhat confusing at times with what players state. Vstats are technically a OOC version of looking at the paperwork, you should be able to see this before purchasing a vehicle as you don't just take a persons word when buying a car in real life do you? (Unless you want to get scammed of course). By adding this command you are allowing for things to continue how they to a realistic fashion. If people abuse it they should get dealt with accordingly just like before (could always put roleplay warnings when you do the command to). There is no need to make IC notes containing information that should already be with the car like the pink slip for example. Link to comment

They use it to see the aftermarket modifications and use this information to negotiate a price, almost always without roleplay. That doesn't come with the documentation from the dealership. Is it really too much effort to make a note with the details of a vehicle? I get that people want to keep doing things the easy way, but that's leaving an opportunity to improve the quality of the server unused. Edited May 6, 2021 by mj2002 Link to comment

Surely the insurance documentation should state all of the aftermarket modifications that have been done to the vehicle? As if they have not been declared then therefore the insurance is invalidated. Again, when I buy a car, I always ASK the owner if there are ANY upgrades done before I even used /vstats to verify what they are saying is true. That pink-slip has to list all changes done to the vehicle which are not stock, specifically the upgrades. Similar thing with when you present your drivers license to an officer you have to use a command to actually show the license. Why I can't just make a note with details of my license? Oh right Because it is not GOVERNMENT issued. Link to comment
