What weapons would you like to see added?

If you've been paying attention to any of the new GTAW announcements like I have, you might've noticed that a few handguns have been added in-game.

 

Some of these, like the Glock, are no-brainers. Others, like the Makarov, seemed less obvious to me, but still welcome additions. With the influx of new handguns and their effect on the sprouting legal and illegal weapon markets alike, I was curious what weapons the community would be interested in seeing in the future, and why they feel these weapons ought to be added.

For me personally, I took the liberty of doing a quick search through 5Mods and came up with a short list of additions I think'd be appropriate (keep in mind I'm not a modder, I'm not sure if these could even be added to GTAW or not, I just figured I'd see what already exists):

M1911 and Walther PPK:
GTAV might have the Heavy Pistol as part of the base game, but I think we can all agree that it lacks the classic look expected from an M1911 pistol. Currently the Heavy Pistol - molded after the WideBody 1911 - is not available for legal purchase (from what I know), so why not offer a legal variant with tweaked stats?

Edit: Why should you add a Browning Hi-Power to the game? The real question is why shouldn't you? It boasts 1,500,000+ made after a continous production of 82 years, has been used by the US military and the FBI, and remains in marginal production to this day. Seems like a welcome addition to me.

The Walther PPK is an iconic German-made pistol used by James Bond himself. The PPK was the world's first successful double-action semi-automatic pistol and remains in service to this day. It's produced locally within the US and used by police varying state-to-state. The PPK is favored for its concealability and versatility.

Colt King Cobra .357 [Magnun]/Cold King Cobra .357 [Snub]
GTAV has bad taste in revolvers. There, I said it. Heavy Revolver and HR Mrk. II are oversized 44. magnums that are only feasible for range shooting and hunting. No one's going to be able to use a 44. Magnum with a 6+ inch barrel. It just doesn't make sense.

 

The Colt King Cobra on the other hand chambers a much smaller bullet and was marketed to law enforcement and civilians when first produced. Production of the King Cobra was recently resumed in 2019 and continues to this day. I'd love to see both a magnum and a snub-nose version since GTAV sorely lacks a snub-nose revolver of any kind.

Remington 870 [Basic]/Remington 870 With Pistol Grip [Police Issue]:
Remington 870 is an American classic. Over 11,000,000+ have been produced and it is used commonly all around the world. To me, adding an 870 is a no-brainer; It can pertain to police, legal, and illegal roleplayers alike. If introduced I'd like to see both versions of the 870 added to the game (one with and without the pistol grip), since every shotgun used in GTAW features a pistol grip.
(The only drawback with this one is the weird animation for the Remington with no pistol grip)

Uzi and MAC-10:
I know what you're thinking: "Why do we need an Uzi when we've already got the Micro-SMG? Aren't they basically the same thing?" I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, but I will say variety is king. The Micro-SMG of the base game may be blatantly modeled after the Mini-Uzi, but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for its Macro counterpart. The "regular" Uzi could feature a larger magazine and some minor stat adjustment, but be more expensive as a counter-balance.

 

The MAC-10 on the other hand is a no-brainer. Produced in the United States to this day, the MAC-10 is cheap, effective, and concealable. According to the New York Post, the MAC-10 will run you around $200USD, making it extremely popular within the US of A.

 

My list will probably be different compared to your list, but that's ok. I'd like to get a healthy discussion going on what types of weapons the illegal, legal, and law-enforcement community would like to see added in the near future. I've added a couple discussion topics at the bottom just to get the ball rolling:

 

- What's missing from my list?

- What would you remove from my list and why? (I don't consider myself a gun-nut, so sorry if I got any of my facts wrong)

- Do you think we should impliment as many weapons as possible in the name of variety, or focus only on the ones that ooze true quality?  

- Do you think the GTAV base-weapons suffice?

- Do you think GTAW should expand on the availible ammo? Should they differentiate the ammo between calibers instead of just, Pistol, Shotugn, and Rifle ammo?

- With the new update to weapon-damage over long ranges, do you feel hollow-point bullets that do more range up close but less from afar should be implimented?
- What melee weapons should be added?

- What weapons would benefit illegal roleplayers?
- What weapons would benefit legal roleplayers?
- What weapons would benefit Law-Enforcement roleplayers?

i dont see any immediate faults with the ppk, but its not a lore gun so i dont like it.

- What melee weapons should be added? Anything that can be acquired.

- What weapons would benefit illegal roleplayers? All of the above.
- What weapons would benefit legal roleplayers? Shotguns, handguns, sporter rifles.
- What weapons would benefit Police roleplayers? Shotguns, handguns.

I'd love to see revolvers implemented, even if they were one of the many simple retextures for the Double-Action Revolver from GTA:Online - would rather see weapons we're missing fundamentally over more of the same pistols/shotguns/etc that handle the same. 

 

Best one that comes to mind is this mod. It suits the aesthetic of the game and overall as a weapon seems balanced and fair when it comes to how it handles and the damage it dishes out (which can obviously be edited server-side).

This is a really nice find. (I could obviously be wrong but) it looks to me that they retextured the double-action to be a Colt M1917, which is extremely realistic within the setting of GTAW. Hope this is usable.

You're right, my mistake. Maybe I should've read the mod description a little closer instead of... Jumping the gun (ba-dun tsss). Will make edits to the original thread.

Still a beautiful mod that I'd like to see added into the game.
