Devastante
Just don't play poker, when they see no one using it maybe they might decide to change things. Personally I walked into a casino one time with like 28k. Played 3 hands and won all 3 for like a 35k total winning and walked out and will probably never return. Link to comment

Earlll
I do agree that this is an IC issue. This just needs to be enforced by the management of casinos. Link to comment

It's far easier to make a script that sets a limit than it is to convince hundreds of players to enforce what should be common sense and realism. And it's not an IC issue, most Casinos don't work like this IRL. Edited May 31, 2021 by arandomgamer Link to comment

BengiNiki
I disagree with you. Poker is a game based on skills and a little bit of luck. I am playing it since I was a child, and you can trust me. For example, now I am playing only online on joker123, but before the casinos were closed in my state, I played in the nearest casino near my house. There was the place where I learned how to play. The basics of the age are easy to learn, but after this, you will need to learn how to understand if someone is bluffing or not and predict the next steps of your opponents. Developing these two skills is very important in poker. Edited July 1, 2021 by BengiNiki Link to comment
cooker
IRL pretty much every Casino has a max buy in. Just saying. Link to comment
Resick
It's totally an IC issue. In real life, there's casinos that have a buy-in limit, but then there's casinos that don't have a limit. The way you stated 'a guy who joins with 300,000$ can continuously make 5000$ bets and clean up everyone' screams bad poker player to me, or rather a beginner. Don't play poker expecting everyone to just check until they hit a good card and then go all in so you can win the hand. It's much more than that. Anyway, back on topic, deal with it IC. Doesn't matter what it screams to you, mathematically in a heads up you'll only win 50% of hands and if the guy keeps calling every hand because he has way more money than you, you'll end up at a loss unless he's completely stupid and goes in with nothing. Even the fact that he can afford to see the flop every turn because he has so much more money than you speaks loads. Sorry but people who come in this thread and defend some dude with 300,000 $ playing dudes with 50,000 $ scream of Poker inexperience. It's like putting Brock Lesnar in the ring with McGregor. McGregor might be better but he dies every time. Give me 300,000$, you stay with 50,000$ and I'll clean you out every time, no matter who you are. It's not an IC issue because this shit doesn't happen in real life and no casino does it. But because the server lacks casinos, due to supply and demand, people can't take their business and go elsewhere, so they're forced to either not play or play with poor rules. We need a maximum buy in. Edited June 23, 2021 by arandomgamer 1 Link to comment
HeyMambo
Let’s be honest, no one is going to walk around with a dufflebag or suitcases full of cash at a random poker table on the casino floor, which is what people should be RP’ing with the amount of money they bring to a table. This is why it’s an OOC issue. It’s abuse of the script and people know it. Simple as that. Casinos that have no-limit poker usually don’t have high rollers coming in to play with people who have $1,000 in chips on the table. High rollers wouldn’t want to waste their time. The casino would normally want them to play with other high rollers or treat them to a special table so that they come back to their casino again. This is just bad portrayal and again becomes an OOC issue. The responsibility should be on the casinos, but at the moment it’s an RPQM issue to where they should be held to a higher standard and currently they are not. It’s a simple solution for casinos until a more preferable script update comes around. Enforce table limits through /showitems to the dealer before the game is started. It shows the amount of cash on them and thus the dealer won’t start if there’s a high roller with $500,000 trying to play with people who have $5,000 at a table. There’s no reason this shouldn’t be done. Casinos IRL have tables with different limits for a reason. Edited June 23, 2021 by Lumiere Link to comment
