Poker is utterly imbalanced/broken

Most of what the low-med-high stakes implies has been mentioned already. Sure, some rich guys can come with 300 grands to a 50 grand table, but a lot of guys with 50 grand join high stake tables too, when they're not supposed to. It's something that's hard to enforce. Surely, the game host can make the rules, but if someone comes to a totally random, non-supervised table, I don't think there's much to add about it either. It's just how the game works. IRL there's also people with lots of money to blow that join the tables with the max buy in when there's people barely holding up. It's just how gambling is.

What high stake tables dude?

In real life do you think anyone would want to play a table where a guy has half a million dollar in cash with their measly 50K ?

But on this server there is an artificial low supply of poker tables because there are no public, 24/7 casinos to play at. There's usually one open at a time, with ONE Poker table. This creates a low supply high demand situation where people will play whatever is offered. Again, it's easy to call it an IC issue and say solve it IC but the reality is that this ''IC issue" has an OOC factor, namely if I want to play Poker IC there's only like 1 spot open with only 1 table. So all these solutions of talking to the owners or trying to convince 8 people to follow reasonable rules is simply unrealistic.

No. They need staff intervention.

I'm no programmer but I doubt it would be hard to make a table have a limit of how much cash money you can add. Entering with 500,000$ and entering with 100,000$ and then adding more and more when you get kicked out is a whole different ballgame.

Maybe do something like how Red Dead 2 does it -- whoever creates the table lobby should have a command that allows them to set a max bet per round?

This wouldn't really fix the issue, they'd just put in max every round. Just let the table creator set a maximum amount you can bring to the table.

It wouldn't entirely fix it, but as someone who doesn't ever enter a poker table with hundreds of thousands on me I'd be willing to risk a max bet call (we'll say 10-15k assuming low stakes) after folding enough times for some good cards than get roped into betting all 50k I brought on one hand I finally decide to play you know?

This.

People keep saying it's an IC issue, just talk to the other people at the table or the casino owner. The issues with this are:

#1 People are just going to either say no or have someone constantly bringing them more money.

#2 There is no incentives to do this for casino owners. Like @arandomgamer pointed out there's only one casino with one poker table open at a time normally. Why split up the tables into high rollers and low rollers when you can just hire a single dealer and throw them all in one game.

#3 There are no tools to do this and that's what people are asking for. Asking people to make a pact with the other players or asking the casino owner to setup a special game for you is frankly... Stupid.

Why is there such resistance to just adding the tool to be able to set money limits, nobody is forcing casino's to use it. But at least if it exists it will give casino owners the option to break tables up into different money limits.

Quite frankly I suspect the ones saying it's an IC issue are the ones abusing it. It just creates a very boring game and fucks up the server's economy since the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

I advocate for the closing of all casinos at the hands of Property Management for failure to do Good Business Portrayal. Please read up on 'Yield Management'.

Until then I eagerly await the finance update so I can start robbing people with a screwdriver for their half-million pockets at the casino doors.

This. It's not IC when its abuse of a game mechanic. Simple as that. Add a tool to be able to set money limits per table. Obviously there's a lot of friction to this because people want to be able to continue to abuse it.

Also, asking players at a poker table to be honorable and trustworthy with one another about how much money they are bringing to the table?
