Poker is utterly imbalanced/broken

It's easy to say " Handle it IC " but that would mean having to convince every table owner to not only agree on those lowered stakes, but also actively police the table ( which they won't do since no one wants to spend 2 hours moderating a Poker game ). Rinse and repeat for EVERY casino.

Do you understand how impractical that is?

Furthermore how can you tell me to handle this situation IC when there's an OOC rule that limits the amount you can rob off people? There is no RISK involved for someone carrying 300,000$ because they can't lose more than 5000$ in a robbery. That's an OOC safety net that further diminishes the risk they take walking around with so much money.

Also please explain how someone can carry 300,000$ in cash in their pockets.

When you have 300,000$ and the opponent has only 50,000$ you can afford to throw in 5000$ bets every round. The opponent won't have the money to keep doing that, he can't get good cards every turn. It's far harder to win when your opponent has 6 times your money.

The fact IG casino's don't have croupier's or dealers to manage individual tables is a reflection of casino / gambling poor RP standards, not a need for OOC intervention.

If you go to any casino in the world and engage in a competition, there will be staff monitoring and watching tables.

It's an entirely IC issue and Casino's / gambling community should do better.

Edit: If you want table limits and there aren't house enforced limits (which is practically everywhere), agree with the players beforehand.

Yeah, let me make a pact with the rotation of 20 some random players that join a table.

Again, this is incredibly impractical.

Probably because it's a boring job no one wants to do.

At any rate I'm at least satisfied with the removal of limits on cash robberies. It should teach people to be more careful.

Using multi million dollar security systems which can track and identify which cards are on the table, has built in facial recognition software to identify players. Oh and over a dozen pit bosses in any given section + dealers + security + the people on the cameras watching players 24/7.

There's a different between a betting (table) limit and a money limit. In pokers current iteration (Gambling in general) there is no limit to the amount of money I can bring to the table, only a limit to how much I can place on any given hand. As @arandomgamer pointed out, if I bring 2 million to the table and everyone else brings 50k I can effectively bully everyone else off the table. I could lose 5 5k hands in a row and not blink but that'll destroy everyone else.

This is why in real life tables split into different sections, the guy who's dropping 2k in a night at the casino likely isn't playing with your average guy at the 5 dollar tables, they're playing in a specific high rollers section. At least in my local area, if a casino spots you trying to abuse the system we've described you'll get forced to go to a table where the limit is higher.

The obvious solution is "Oh well implement high roller sections and force them to play there" but this isn't real life, they aren't playing expensive hands because it's enjoyable. They are playing expensive hands because it allows them to bully the rest of the table and win. It's a decision being made OOCly to maximize ones profits and it needs an OOC solution to stop it.

Which is why it's up to the house or the people playing at a poker table to agree limits - especially when it comes to buy in's - I play RL poker, it's not uncommon for people to limit buy ins to stop this exact strategy.

It's easily avoidable, Bring 50k to the table, and a max of 0/1/2 buy ins etc, it's literally, a 2 minute conversation between the players before the game starts and/or anyone joining the table.

If you're gonna play a no limits game of poker, then that's the decision you've made and so you should live with the consequences.

Alternatively, rather than coming to the forums and making an OOC issue out of something, RP your objection's IC and find likeminded people to play with poker with - you are unlikely to be alone in how you feel.

Script should at least make it so the person whos set the table up can set a limit on the table without constantly monitoring every person coming and going from the poker tables.

Something like /makelobby [NUMBER OF SLOTS] [TABLE] [Max $ amount]

EDIT:
Ill add to this I used to run a small card room with table limits but it was a major pain in the ass and not worth the effort in the slightest.

You simply converse with a casino staff members about this issue. In all honesty, though? Most real-life Casinos have chip limits within tables. File a roleplay quality report, as it's poor portrayal to allow a man to play with a million chips at a low-stake table.
