Poker is utterly imbalanced/broken

If you can not afford to call your opponents "stupid bet" then you're doing the right thing.

Yes, the player with the most money can GAMBLE more and bet on his cards pre-flop etc. BUT, don't forget that the rules are the same for you and him. Best cards win, keep folding till you reach a good pair of cards and wanna bet on them. Once you've got the cards, you've got free money cause your opponent keeps "betting". I've made a lot of money playing with aggressive people, if I could choose, I'd rather play against one with a lot of money then with one without a lot of money.

It's easy to say " Handle it IC " but that would mean having to convince every table owner to not only agree on those lowered stakes, but also actively police the table ( which they won't do since no one wants to spend 2 hours moderating a Poker game ). Rinse and repeat for EVERY casino.

Do you understand how impractical that is?

Furthermore how can you tell me to handle this situation IC when there's an OOC rule that limits the amount you can rob off people? There is no RISK involved for someone carrying 300,000$ because they can't lose more than 5000$ in a robbery. That's an OOC safety net that further diminishes the risk they take walking around with so much money.

Also please explain how someone can carry 300,000$ in cash in their pockets.

When you have 300,000$ and the opponent has only 50,000$ you can afford to throw in 5000$ bets every round. The opponent won't have the money to keep doing that, he can't get good cards every turn. It's far harder to win when your opponent has 6 times your money.

It's not just an ic issue sadly as the poker script simply doesn't give it to properly roleplay around it (bugs, lack of ability to spectate, not possible to place multiple tables next to each other).

If we have a working poker script that allows hosts to supervise multiple tables, they could also roleplay high and low stakes, seaprating players accordingly etc.

In the current design though, that's just not in.

This will soon no longer be a concern. When the robbery limit is removed, that specific issue will change.  It doesn't, however, resolve the issue on how to enforce chip limits per table.

Is that a thing that will happen or a hypothetical? I have to say I'm not exactly thrilled at the idea of crime rate going up by 1000% once that happens.

That will happen, Nervous has already confirmed this. When most payments can be done through bank transfers, there is no more need for a robbery limit.
