Some general Q&A's;

  • Where is the Park Rangers Headquarters located?
    • Our local San Andreas Headquarters that is commonly known in the Los Santos County Area, is the Paleto District Headquarters, which is located across from the Paleto Bay Fire Station, on Paleto Boulevard.

  • Can the Park Rangers be called in an emergency?
    • Yes, as certified Law Enforcement Officers, the San Andreas Park Rangers do receive local nine-one-one calls from the surrounding Counties and Cities they patrol in. However, Park Rangers will typically only respond to mass emergency incidents that they are requested specifically, or if the emergency call of service comes directly from a State Park, in which they will be considered the generalized First Responder. Park Rangers may also be requested out of State Park's if an emergency call of service comes in regarding animals or violations of the Hunting Act.

  • What if I don't have an emergency and need to contact the Park Rangers?
    • If you don't have an emergency, that requires an immediate response from the San Andreas Park Rangers, you may call nine-nine-one (991) for non-emergency calls that require a field operations (patrol) unit, or you may call our direct State Hotline, at eight-zero-eight (808), and you will be forwarded to a local operator that can assist you. Please note if you call the non-emergency hotline, you must state you are requesting the State Park Rangers - or the call of service will go out to all local law enforcement agencies.

  • What are the State Laws on Hunting?
    • San Andreas lawmakers have recently revamped and passed through the new San Andreas Hunting & Animal Protection Act of 2021. After completion of the Law Enforcement Academy, Rangers will be sent on a three-month course where they are specifically taught Hunting Violations and Acts, and how to enforce said acts as a Law Enforcement Officer, rather than the basic academy of teaching the foundations of how to be a Law Enforcement Officer. After completion of both academies, those that have passed will be employed as a Cadet where they will go under another three-month Field Training Program, where they will be assigned a Field Training Ranger. Only after the completion of the Field Training Program, is where one will be promoted to the rank of Ranger. • Those with a POST Certification will still have to go through a three-month Ranger course, where they are taught the specifics of becoming a Park Ranger, and the specifics of the San Andreas Hunting Act, and how to enforce the said act. However, after completion of the course, they will be granted a specific agreed-upon transferred rank, that will be decided prior to the academy.

    • Per State Law, it is required to have an orange vest, or orange clothing that covers the torso, and an orange headcover. However, the San Andreas Park Rangers also recommends gloves, long pants, and a safety pack that includes water, snacks, and a first aid kit.

  • As a Park Ranger, what are my daily duties?
    • Rangers are mainly assigned to our Wildlife Enforcement Division, which primarily focuses on patrolling the State Parks and Hunting Grounds. Our Wildlife Enforcement Division has multiple sectors throughout the State of San Andreas, so you're daily patrol area might vary from one Ranger to another. Rangers typically work twelve-hour shifts, which are split up between a Day Watch and a Night Watch. While on patrol, Rangers will be assigned mainly to enforcing and educating the public on the San Andreas Hunting & Animal Protection Act, while upholding the San Andreas Penal Code when needed throughout the State Parks. Park Rangers are First Responders for the State Parks, Rangers can expect to respond to calls of service that might be life-threatening or a general service calls for assistance throughout the Parks. The daily operations of a Ranger might be the same, however, every call and every day is different in terms of being on the job.
