No, really, this should be a thing. There's buggy hairstyles in, there's hairstyles that look like they're ported from a game 35 years old, there's duplicate hairstyles that are unnecessary. If a bloated file is the issue, there's absolutely justification to replace some of the objectively bad ones with ones that... y'know, work.
