As far as I personally see it, as long as you aren't spamming the roll and only use it once to slide behind an object, vehicle, why not?.

The video you linked is a martial arts instructor with no police, military, or other tactical experience. Prior to becoming a self defense coach, he was a gymnastics coach.

 

He has /no/ idea what the /fuck/ he is talking about.

 

As someone who DOES know a little bit about combat training, if you do anything resembling the GTA V roll in real life combat, you're going to get killed at the worst, most likely shot, and at the very least, your battle buddies are going to give you shit about it for the rest of your deployment.

Yeah, it's not /impossible/ to do, but do you see how impractical and useless that is in an actual scenario? It's for stylish points. That YouTube video is on a martial arts channel, I doubt they know anything about firearms. It is unrealistic and definitely power-gaming.
