By this logic, you will have scenes where neither player is at fault because both had the right of way, absolutely flawed. We just need to pick a ruleset and stick with it.

How would that be possible. The light is green for one direction at a time (with the exception of the light at davis and innocence but whatever). The law has been the same since the server opened in 2017; I fail to see what's difficult. If you have a green light you go right through. If you stop at a red light and then go when someone's coming on a green and they hit you it's your fault for not yielding at the red light. It's painfully simple, it's always been the same, and it's never changed.

If you stop at a red, don't see a car, then continue and somebody rolls through a green light and hits you (or you hit them, w/e) both players had the right of way. It's not painfully simple when there's a clear way that the current system gives both players the right of way at the same time.

You're not taking into account so many other things, the speed of both cars, the duration of a stop the car takes at the red light, the visibility both cars have on each other, typing, etc. If it was painfully simple then this topic wouldn't have 10 pages.

You're overthinking this. Here you go:

This is what you do at a red light:

and a green light:

And just like in real life, if you pull out on a red light and get t-boned you will always be at fault. It's a failure stop to start violation. Same as if you leave the McDonalds parking lot and someone travelling down the road drives into the side of you. Even if they are doing 300MPH they have the right of way and it is the responsibility of the person yielding to ensure the intersection is clear before proceeding. This is all covered in IRL driving tests too.

The lights aren't synced, not sure who said that.

We're on RAGEMP, a client known for poor sync, and people always complain about the sync on this server so again, this claim that the lights are synced is false.

Just stop at intersections and continue if there are no pedestrians or oncoming vehicles. The lights are only synced for those that have specific save files, but not synced for the remainder. Nobody should be punished or arrested because their game save files are different.

So treat red lights like stop signs where somebody objectively has the right of way, but when you get T-Boned for treating it like a stop sign, it's your fault?

Leaving a parkinglot is not the same as an intersection.

Also yes, in real life, there are rules and laws where no two people have the same right of way at the same time.

There's a serious flaw in saying to treat a red light like a stop sign while also saying that you don't have the right of way and it's your fault for any crashes? There's some logic gates here that aren't being met.

Anyways, thanks for your input but I'll have to disagree on this one.

People always complaining about lags or desync, especially during accidents, but majority actually doesn't wanna rp an accident after they hit someone they didn't see because of their speed.

You have to be trolling. If someone goes through on the green light while you're going through on the red light you're at fault. This is because the direction that had the right of way wasn't clear when you entered the intersection. If you go through the red light and someone goes through their red light after you and hits you it's their fault. If you enter the intersection on a red light while someone is already in the intersection and hit them you will be at fault. Literally the only point of a red light is to yield. If you fail to yield to an existing hazard, you will always be at fault.

It's braindead how simple this is. At no point does more than one person have the right of way nor is more than one person at fault.

"Leaving a parkinglot is not the same as an intersection."

Legally it is, yes. Right of way is right of way. Speed does not factor into right of way. The lights are synced and no amount of complaining will un-sync them either.

Regardless of this, it is undeniable that the sync is awful on RAGEMP, and has been since we moved from GTMP beta.
