OFFICE OF PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE FRANK ERNST

CONSOLIDATED PROGRAMMING ACT OF 2021 SIGNED INTO LAW

March 23, 2021

On March 22, 2021, San Andreas Governor Robert Brandt (I) signed the Consolidated Programming Act of 2021 into law. The omnibus legislation makes several changes to the law, including codifying aviation regulations, expanding penalties for financial and white collar crimes, and fully funds the Department of Labor budget request through May of 2021. The bill was crafted by President Pro Tempore Frank Ernst (R), Senator Ethan Schmidt (R), and Senator Diana Jones (D) worked across the aisle on aviation regulations.

President Ernst released made the following remarks after the bill's passage.

"I appreciate the work my Senate colleagues have done over the gap in the Senate recess. This is groundbreaking legislation that complements the Republican plan to crack down on dark money, corruption and white collar crimes. Furthermore, the appropriations division will go to support workers at the Port of Los Santos, fund renewable energy contracts, and assist small businesses. Finally, the aviation regulations outlined in the legislation will ensure that air travel is safe in our state."
