That's what I mean. Items should be sold to other players in order for the criminal to profit, but I do believe the value of the items should be predetermined by the script. At least as a suggested price, know what I mean?

Still disagree, to be honest. Should be 100% In character decision.

Love this!

IMO, criminals should have the possibility of choosing between taking crates to theirs own vehicles or getting away with the whole truck too.

Suggested crate limits for personal vehicles:

Sedan = 1 crate.

SUV = 2 crates.

Evidently, the payout (the value of the stolen goods) for each crate should be way higher than the truckers payouts per delivery.

Big no here. It will turn into a fest of chain robberies and people camping the trucks for profit unless it requires admin permission to do such task.

It will be 100% In character decision. Nobody is going to be forced to buy or sell at the suggested price. That's what a suggestion is. The thing is that players should at least have a baseline for the transactions, as there is no real economy regarding the value of most of the stolen products.

That's why joaoivis suggested those rules at the end of the topic. Besides there are certainly many other ways to regulate it too.

This will actually have a net positive, including the introduction of scripts that will set a constant price for the economy, rather than jewelry, shoes, technology or otherwise's script prices being dictated by the stores, they'd follow the illegal market. It also ends up giving the players more to do, truckers more to worry about, etc.

Definitely not.

One, trucker robberies in Terminal already happen way more often then it should be because people use their OOC knowledge to know that truckers must carry thousands of dollars of cash because of script limitations, and some of them even have more valuable items on them. Truckers are already rare resources as businesses struggle to get deliveries, if every Davis or Rancho player goes to rob truckers there will be even less trucker to do deliveries.

Two, most trucker robberies are extremely poorly roleplayed. They usually consist a copy and pasted "/me puts knife on throat." Then "/me runs XXX's pockets." "/b showitems" "/me takes the money and whatever else." "/b stop stalling or report" This is more like grinding money than roleplay. Not to mention how many poorly executed chain robberies will occur once this suggestion gets implemented. You might say there are rules in place. Well admins can't be monitoring 600+ players and the robbers are the only ones who know they are chain robbing.

I've asked this many times before and I'll ask it again. Are you doing robberies for monetary gain or roleplay? GTA:World is a roleplay server. If you are in for a quick cash grab then you should actually hop in a garbage truck and spam Y around the city because that's the easier and less risky way to grind money and does not involve ruining other people's lives.

I wanna add to this:

Truckers already get robbed a lot. I've actually seen 4 robberies happen within a couple of days already where truckers lost a lot of stuff as in 5.000$ (which is many rides with a small van), fire-arms, phones, etc. etc.

This already happens, not to truckers only. It's the laziest form of criminal RP, that's a fact, but it doesn't change the fact that implementing a system that rewards proper truck hijackings would bring benefits to criminal roleplay and legal roleplay.

Mind you that most truck hijackings should be done by a well organized crew, as it is IRL. Then, you have to think that there could be security companies escorting those trucks, making the hijacking itself much harder.

As for the chain robbing issue, a simple command such as /robtruck would solve this issue. You execute this command when you're robbing a truck and get slapped with a 12h-24h cooldown between robberies.

But again, this is a discussion, all ideas are welcome.

Both, the objective of crime is to make money. The problem with truck robberies is that because of the way crates are scripted, the value isn't in the contents of your truck, it's your wallet. Which I agree is totally idiotic, people shouldn't be robbing truck drivers for their wallets.

Right now, if I do a proper truck robbery where I give the truck driver great RP. I don't even take his belongings because he complies with the robbery. What do I walk away with? A truck full of junk.  Crates are only truly useable by truckers, I can't sell them under the table to someone for use in their business, I can't create any RP with them after the initial robbery. For someone who talks about roleplay, you seem to fail to see all the fantastic RP potential in this change.

People want to see robberies be more then just low tier muggings but they fail to realize they are limited to that by the rules and lack of script support.
