IMEX Motorsports soars to a third place finish as the inaugural SAASCAR season ends at Blaine Aviation Airfield

Los Santos, San Andreas, Release: August 17, 2021.

As the dust settled at Blaine Aviation Airfield on Saturday, the inaugural season of SAASCAR came to a close. Capping off a season lasting nearly three months, the Regional Championship Finals was the fourth race of the season and the third to be held at the venerable county aerodrome.

For IMEX Motorsports, the season got off to a roaring start in mid June, with the first live practice session at Vinewood Racetrack in the north outskirts of Los Santos. Midway through this event, Driver Blake Blackburn was involved in a horrific multiple roll-over incident that nearly permanently retired "Yeti", the team's white-wheeled racing Bravado Gauntlet.

Hurdling this pre-season obstacle, IMEX roared to victory in the season's inaugural race in the first week of July. Locking-out the front row after a blistering qualifying session, Drivers Benjamin Lucas and Humad Adam led the field for much of the race. Although Lucas was knocked out of the event after contact, Adam fought to the finish, fending-off the frenzied pack to bring home the very first victory in SAASCAR history!

For the second race of the season, SAASCAR rolled up to Blaine County for the Blaine Aviation Grand Prix. Unlike at Vinewood, fate proved to be against IMEX at Blaine Aviation Airfield. Not only was the team rocked by Blackburn's resignation, but a shortage of committed drivers following Driver Lee Williams' unexplained no-show, meant that Crew chief Jessie Rice was forced to don a helmet and pilot Yeti herself. IMEX's misfortune continued during the race, with Rice involved in a hair-raising crash that sent her to the hospital with excruciating lower-body injuries. Adam faired little better, however, being knocked out later on by the very same Scuderia Sbinalla driver that hospitalized Rice. Through sheer grit, skill, and determination, Lucas clawed his way back, narrowly missing the podium, coming in fourth

Attempting to carry on forward, IMEX Motorsports limped into the third race weekend with no-shows from both Adam and Williams. Again bearing the team's hopes upon his shoulders—this time as the team's only starting driver—Lucas rose to the occasion, posting the second fastest qualifying time. Starting in the front grid, Lucas drove the race of his life. Despite slipping several positions behind with two-thirds of the race past, the racing veteran caught his second wind and wrenched his way to the front, seizing the lead and soaring to victory. For Lucas and IMEX, two times was the charm in Blaine County.

Following a three-week hiatus, SAASCAR exploded into August with the final Regional Championship Finals. For IMEX, any hope of carrying on the momentum from the previous three was nipped in the bud. Still suffering commitment issues from its drivers, the team was represented by Lucas and new coming Driver Cortez Santana. Again finding little in the way of luck on his side, Lucas posted a mid-pack qualifying time, and was even forced to endure being passed upon the presentation lap by a Hawaiian Snow Racing Team driver who we was eventually disqualified for  passing two cars under a yellow flag in a similar manner. For Santana, racing the very first race of his career, finishing in one piece was a victory in itself.

Although IMEX missed the podium in this event—a race that offered double the points compared to the three previous—the team finished the season with undeniable momentum, sealing strong commitments from three enthusiastic new drivers and mechanical staff members: Meiying Fang, Bryan Shem, and Vidar Altin.

When it was all said and done, IMEX won a podium place in the final overall team standings, finishing third behind Syndicate Motorsports and Scuderia Sbinalla. Lucas landed a third place finish overall as well, finishing behind Dustin Rivers and Marina Matsuyari of Syndicate.

In an email to the employees of IMEX Logistics, CEO Aurora McCorkle wrote: "We started way back in June and competed in four races—winning two of them! At times we struggled hard. Our team faced so many obstacles, and although we crashed into barriers and nearly broke down, we clung onto one another, patching ourselves up and didn't let go of each other, finishing the season more committed than when we started it. If there's one thing I know, that's the story of IMEX!"

A day in the life of an IMEX trucker!

Los Santos, San Andreas, Release: September 5, 2021.

You see them every day. The proud red trucks of IMEX Logistics rolling down the road, hauling supplies to local businesses of Los Santos and the surrounding region. But have you ever wondered what an average trucker goes through any given day? Well wonder no more!

For about one hundred of the region's best truckers, an everyday shift starts with a drive down through the length of Elysian Island, an industrial enclave deep in the south of the city. The island not only serves as the seat of the region's leading trucking firms, but also as a power center of the San Andreas Port Authority. Overseeing a significant portion of the Los Santos southern seaboard, the Port Authority employs scores of the city's hard-working dock workers: men and women who work hand-in-hand with truckers, unloading ships of goods and wares that are loaded into trucks and hauled across the city and surrounding counties.

Passing the front gate of Plaice Place Station (PPS), a state-of-the-art logistical facility that forms the beating-heart of the island, IMEX truckers park their personal cars, trucks, and motorcycles in a designated parking lot guarded by contracted security personnel and watched over by strategically placed CCTV cameras. Although the eye-catching exterior of PPS' main building is arguably the city's greatest surviving example of early twentieth-century Art Deco architectural design, it houses a high-tech logistical command center inside that is second to none! Making their way into this building, truckers dawn their uniforms in change rooms, check the day's weather forecast in the dispatch room, and grab a quick coffee before setting out for the trucks.

For IMEX truckers, failing to prepare is preparing to fail. All company drivers are coached to undertake pre-shift walkaround checks of their trucks. Following this visual inspection of the windshield, windows, wheels, lights, body, and doors, truckers enter their vehicles to conduct an internal check to their instruments, radio, dash cams, and a double-check of their vehicle's registration and insurance status.

As part of the company's onboarding process, IMEX drivers are all designated a unique badge number which serves as their call sign over the company's radio network. Once properly signed-in over this communication system — a network  that keeps them in touch with the rest of the active delivery fleet — truckers proceed to access the digital dispatch system through mounted tablets in their cabs. All truckers connected to this network have a vast array of options at the fingertips. The system lists orders placed by businesses and operators throughout the region, allowing truckers to not only choose their pickup locations and drop off locations, but to even browse and compare listed prices.

Once an order is selected, the dispatch software shows the trucker a route to take. Although newer recruits tend to follow these routes to a T, grizzled veterans tend to take longer detours to bypass intersections and congested streets. With a final radio call out, alerting the active fleet of their location, destination, and intent, IMEX truckers are cleared to roll out and hit the road!

Driving excellence is paramount at IMEX. From their first introductory ride along with one of the company's best truckers, company drivers are held to the highest standards in the state. Racing to and from pickups isn't tolerated by the community, and rushing is strongly discouraged. Instead, IMEX truckers are coached to aim for consistency, to drive at their own pace, and ensure each shipment is delivered with the care it deserves.

Although some drivers from rival companies may load and unload their large trucks by hand — sometimes at admittedly remarkable speeds — IMEX truckers take their time and utilize industrial dollies and pallet jacks to get the job done. For us, a job done well is a job worth doing!

IMEX truckers haul supplies to an astonishing variance of sites. From bustling garages along the highway to quiet tattoo parlors deep in the inner city. Not only do they deliver to run-of-the-mill clothing stores, supermarkets, and corner convenience stores, but they also haul supplies to middle-class digital retailers, refined upper-class jewelers, working-class hardware stores, and even seedy outer-county biker bars!

Through an inherent commitment to road safety, IMEX truckers challenge themselves to preserve the respect of the devoted men and women of the LSPD and LSSD who patrol the city and county roads day-in and day-out. Driving some of the largest road-legal vehicles in the region, the royal-red IMEX trucks are almost always the center of attention, attracting the scrutiny of not only law enforcement and the general public, but even unsavory elements of the criminal underworld! As such, teamwork is a vital aspect of IMEX day-to-day operations, with truckers acting as each other's eyes and ears on the road, constantly giving updates concerning location and status.

As the shift of an IMEX trucker draws to a close, a final callout for home is made over the radio. Many times truckers take it upon themselves to fuel up at this point of their shift, utilizing a company fuel card to cover the costs. Breathing a sigh of satisfaction (and perhaps a bit of thankful relief!), homeward-bound IMEX truckers roll southwards down through Elysian Island one last time, invariably passing small groups of dock workers assembling for shifts of their own.

As the San Andreas sun sets behind the city's western skyline, a final radio call is made to sign-off and a post-shift check is conducted before heading inside. Truckers log their shift into the company intranet system, grabbing a steaming mug of hot coffee as they enter-in their particulars. Spacious change rooms and hot showers await every trucker after a long shift. Ending their shift with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment, truckers are free for a night on the town with their friends and colleagues!

A trucking career may not be for everyone, but for the dedicated drivers at IMEX, it's a chance to enjoy a stable and lucrative job that gives us the ability to travel, experience the beautiful San Andreas countryside and cityscape, meeting interesting people from all over the world who call this state their home! At it's worst, there are few careers as stressful as a trucker's, but at it's best, it's one of the most enjoyable jobs in the world! If you have the passion to drive, the hunger for hard work, and the yearning to join a positive like-minded community, IMEX Logistics is looking for you!

A new leader for us!

Email to employees: November 29, 2021.

IMEX Logistics CEO Aurora McCorkle announces the promotion of COO Nikolas Bond.

Hi everyone,

It is my pleasure to announce the elevation of Nikolas Bond to Chief Operations Manager!

Nik started his career with us last Spring. Although he came from a background in security, and joined as a trucker, his interviewer prophetically suggested to Management that a role in the HR side of things would suit Nik's strengths.

Throughout the history of IMEX, the activity of the HR Department has always been inconsistent and fickle. However, Nik has always been an exception to the rule. Upon joining the department, he quickly became one of the team's most energetic members and a standout for his dependability. As the months rolled on, his devotion to the team made him the obvious choice for the departmental Management role, and under his leadership the team has only expanded and solidified.

The Summer months took a toll upon our community. Losing so many key members with invaluable skills and experience nearly crippled the company. However, in the face of this vacuum Nik rose to the occasion. He took on more than his fair share of the burden, and over the last few months has matured in a true leader.

Nik is compassionate, hardworking, dutiful, and loyal to the core. He's a dear friend and a role model for us all. For nearly two months now, Nik has operated as an IMEX executive in all but name. Today that changes. Congratulations Nik! Our new COO!

Aurora McCorkle
Chief Executive Officer
