99.9% of the times I deal with it, it is badly done and stale. Mobsters acting like it's the 1950s. Nazis in such huge numbers that it could never even be hoped to be realistic given statistical representation. EVERY. SINGLE. NEIGHBORHOOD. BEING. A. "HOOD". Other factions amounting basically to 'pew pew pew rp' and nothing else of any substance.

 

To be entirely honest, it's a nuisance, and every single character seemingly having some kind of shady illegal side to them gets really boring really fast. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago surrounded by gangs and crime. The portrayal on this server is, the grand majority of the time, not just bad but offensive.

 

I wish more people would just stop with the illegal RP and add to the city as civilians. This server feels like cops and robbers quite often and it's just played out.

It's GTA. You have to expect people to get on expecting to do illegal roleplay.

I think this perspective is heavily influenced by where you are on the server and who you surround yourself with. I can’t find myself in the world you describe. Also, as for the civilian part. I think it’s important to let people roleplay what they want to roleplay. I for one would be a terrible civilian, while a civilian might be a terrible criminal. I think what the criminal roleplayers miss is a larger number of amateurs. I do find myself in a place where almost everyone is a professional criminal, and I think it has to do with the psychology that we want to be good at what we do. But there’s generally a large gap between people in that regard. We can’t all and shouldn’t all be experts and flawless, but there’s nothing stopping anyone from doing so.

I agree with this 100%. Everyone was a beginner once and I see many people still treating the roleplay like rpg. Spinning a story of a character doesn't mean you are climbing a ladder to the top. That's not how life works. People always asked me, why a porn actress addicted to cocaine with troubled past? Why? Cause that's the story a chose to tell, (even though after 3 years I did put her on hold, cause of lack of proper time to actually get into any rp lately). But still I chose semi-legal roleplay, cause you know DUI is pretty common, drug abuse is pretty common, associating with people of shady business is pretty common, so I cannot really say my character is 100% legal, cause none of my characters is, yet they do not go into full criminal mode. Cause in my opinion, criminal roleplay is harder compared to what you must go through as a civ. I rped a gangbanger before and honestly I found few scenes I was in pretty cringe and realized such portrayal isn't really for me. Even if I pop up on gang scene time to time, it's more of an episodic roleplay. My point is however, that with bigger playerbase you get bigger influx of players of various qualities and ideas. Which is why unofficial faction is really awesome idea.

Without Illegal RP you wouldn't have the server, how are civilians suppose to get their illicit goods?

Need more amateurs, need less RoboCop, need more investigators, need slower PD response times. Need more street cameras, need more common sense, need fear of jail. Illegal RP community is very lousy generally, and law enforcement doubly so. Also need to get rid of PKs imo. That's what I think of illegal RP.

Idk what you mean abt Nazis in huge numbers, the only factions that are really portrayed as being in any way knowingly aligned with Nazi ideology are CASH and the white car afaik.
