Hayden, age 19.

Backstory

Hayden was born to a loving couple of a Tongan male and an African-American female. Hayden's early years were not different from most of the Davis ghetto residents. Troubled parents - mother had a drug problem, father was a hard working but refused to leave Hayden's mother, regardless of her problems. Hayden had a strong father figure from the early days, since his father worked hard to provide for his family and keep Halatanu family happy. When Hayden was 7 years old, his mother gave birth to his sister that had developed ADHD due to mother's drug abuse. Hayden usually did good in school, where it is all technical and science like, however, things such as literature are a hard nut for him to crack. When Hayden was 11 years old, his mother died from heroin overdose. Hayden had to mature even faster to help his father support the family - take care of his young sister, help his father at his workplace - a scrapyard near their house on Roy Lowenstein Blvd.  Since the age of 11 Hayden helped his father out by working together with him in a local scrapyard. After Hayden's mother's death, not much has changed, except for Hayden's father's crippling depression and mid age crisis. Ironically enough, Hayden did not feel the emotion of losing someone close, someone like a mother. Mostly because she was dependent on drugs, fiending, not paying attention, care or love to her children. It was only Hayden's father, Hayden and his little sister left and only person - his father - could've made income, just as it has been. As the time went on, Hayden started to learn to disassemble various things - from laundry machines to whole cars. Hayden usually spends his time after school there, where he also picked up a few mechanical skills and so on. He also has a knack for technology, IT and mechanics - a potential engineer in the future but with a troubled past and even more troubled environment.

Chapter I

Knowledge acquired by assisting his father in a local scrapyard helped Hayden get a better paid "job" at the age of 14 - his father's acquaintance and local Kaelo that had a high ranking position in a local Tongan Crip Gang, offered Hayden better means of earning money. Hayden got help from Kaelo and learned how to pick locks and break into newer model cars, including software to hack the keyless entry systems and keyless starts via relay attacking the vehicle security systems and ignitions. This led to his involvement in a car theft ring, which helped him to substantially more wealth to make a change in his family's life than he would have made by simply helping his father in a local scrapyard. However, being young and careless Hayden got incarcerated at the age of 15 for Grand Theft Auto and evading. Hayden's incarceration revealed the details of the car theft ring to his father. Hayden's father being a strict Christian and a very family oriented man, started looking at Hayden with disrespect, even with hints of disownment. Soon after Hayden's release, he got back to his old ways - simply because it paid off and once more, Halatanu family really needed the money. This time he was already expelled from a local school because of the felony convictions. Shortly before Hayden's second incarceration, he stole a neighboring gang's high ranking member's sedan. Word quickly went around the hood and one of the Tongan community leaders that was also involved with the Tongan Crip Gang, reached out to Hayden and taxed him and his friends that were involved, for $35,000. Being a fifteen year old that had barely a thousand, Hayden had to do anything to survive and pay off his debt. His calm demeanor and self-focus helped Hayden come up with one time gigs and organize a clique of friends, that had grown later on. This led to more organization of Hayden's and his friends clique and involvement to other crimes, such as distribution of drugs, which they thought, would be a one time thing.

Chapter II

After his second incarceration ended, Hayden got recognized for his quick means to acquire money and was put in place of a drug distribution operation that involved local kids against his own will. He kicked back a needed amount of money and was left with a little portion of profits to keep to himself. Not much time it took for Hayden to realize that drug money - is not the way to make a living as a simple pusher. Hayden had to make do and distribute substantially large portions of drugs around the neighborhood within a short span of time, hence why he dragged his friends into it onto false promises of good money and protection from the local gang members. This also led to the formation of Hayden's and his friends semi-official clique - Tongan Riverside Boys. TRB specialized in car theft and drug distribution which led the original group of TRB kids to acquire a fair share of income over time. At the age of 16 Hayden was officially able to find a part time job, however, it was pretty hard for an ex-convict so he got employed through local community leaders at the same chop shop that got him busted two times. While the relationship between his father and Hayden himself were going even more sour, Hayden's father experienced a serious injury at the scrapyard where he was working and was unable to work anymore, leaving Halatanu family without majority of their legal income.

Chapter III

Just as Hayden thought everything was going fine, he had to focus on his family needs satisfaction, taking care of his little sister, paying father's hospital bills and his medication. While Hayden's father was hospitalized, he and Hayden had to get close together once more, however, this did not happen. In biggest times of Hayden's father's need, he was not there and was on the verge of losing his father entirely. Hayden's excuse is poor - he had to make money in order to keep Halatanu family going on and his father's medical bills paid. The work accident that happened to Hayden's father left him wheel chair bound, unable to work for the rest of his life unless he starts training and is completely determined to get back on his feet. After Hayden's father came back home for good, Hayden had to introduce his father to how he is making the ends meet. Even though Hayden's father still despised Hayden's ways, he had to bear with it because he was dependent on his care and money. That did not make their relationship become better at all and even made it worse. Cherry on top, during his father's hospitalization, Hayden picked up another illegal activity - removing weapon serial numbers which was he forced into by the notorious local gang leaders as he was known for having a good mechanical skill set, but it resulted in a good payout for Hayden and building connections. At the age of 17, Hayden was matured as a real family head - building connections, trying to keep lower profile, keeping certain people satisfied, parading his clique of friends that had became his second (even primary) family. During his growing involvement with the Tongan Crip Gang and his own friend clique, Tongan Riverside Boyz - Hayden's position grew and he often had to remind some of his clique members how they should behave around certain people, especially the local community leaders that provide for majority of the residents. One of the major Hayden's good traits were that he was not keen to violence, as opposed to majority of gang members in general. This is mostly due to his calm and self-composed behavior.

Chapter IV

As Hayden grew to to adulthood - age of 18, local gang politics were of interest to him. Local beefs around with neighboring gangs was a part of his life, whether he wanted it or not. Due to constant involvement to trouble - brawls and vandalism mostly, also, bringing money to the set by dealing around with drugs and car theft, he became a valuable asset to the Tongan Crip Gang. Months later after hitting adulthood, he was jumped in and became an official member of the TCG. After earning his rag, Hayden didn't change much. He was still doing the same old - dealing in drugs and in car theft. However, some of the old notorious locals made re-appearances that made him hide his drug business away from them. With the major cut of Hayden's side income, Hayden started to grow distrust towards older and different generation gangbangers that were seen around. This made him focus more around his own age gang members, dealing between them more as he found similar opinions regarding the old-school locals. With some locals moving out, him and his childhood friends stumbled across a great opportunity - running a pawnshop. While Hayden was not directly involved on the papers, he lends his hand from time to time to young and inexperienced managers and provides them with merchandise that comes directly from car theft ring. At the age of 19, Hayden's responsibilities kept on growing. He was not a kid on the block no more. He had to step his game up at least a notch, hence why he started grabbing local kids and teaching them about cars and vehicles from little age. Due to active and never going down involvement with the local gang, Hayden's and his father's relationship went from cold, to freezing cold mainly because of mismatching personal values, which led Hayden forcibly moving his wheelchair bound father to other relatives. Currently Hayden is living with his 4 years younger sister on Roy Lowenstein.

Chapter V

As the time went on, Hayden grew more and more prominent within the gang. As one of the leader's of his own clique of friends, he carried on with scheming, hustling and other activities, still resorting to the drug trade a little, off the eyes from older gang members that did not want him pushing drugs of his own. While that was brewing and going on, last street captain of the TCG went missing after his downfall took place. Spot was vacant and Hayden was chosen to replace him. After that major leap forward, he had to focus entirely on the whole gang, not only his clique, but also the community that surrounds him. Hayden already had earned respect from before, which only helped him and propelled him forwards among other members. While dealing with day to day inner gang politics, Hayden was also presented with problems how to solve disputes between the members. One of those disputes potentially led to the dissolution of two cliques under the set. Differences between the gang members always led to heated conflicts due to the environment-shaped people that didn't behave overly properly. All it took was one mindless and heated conflict, that later led to whole dissolution of cliques. Just like that, Hayden had to take his childhood friend out, for the sake of gang solidarity, sense of protection and mutual respect. Plagued with dwindling numbers, numerous conflicts but with inner peace, Tongan Crips were led on the street by Hayden. There's only one way to recovery after the weeds have been rooted out, however, Hayden caught a second-degree murder charge. After a robbery took place in the middle of a street of one community members, Hayden took after the robber, gunning him down in the process, just behind the clothing store on Carson Ave. Unfortunately, SD cruiser that was moving down the block noticed Hayden, deputy disembarked and took after Hayden. Outcome was a deputy down, Hayden shot and a ghetto bird up above. That was all it took for Hayden to start reconsidering his lifestyle on his way to Twin Towers Correctional Facility. He's currently serving time for a single count of second-degree murder and a possession of prohibited firearm.
