On a more serious note..Assets and character portrayal can always be looked at in an RPQ report though, the staff team generally frowns upon asset hoarding especially if it's by young characters who should really be owning high value assets, cars businesses etc. We can't really stop people from roleplaying what kind of character they want, as long as it's realistic and within reason. It could in-theory be dealt with IC through the government though, they could impose tighter restrictions on business registrations and licensing along with more thorough background checks.

When I was younger, role-playing 25+ felt 'old' and 'wise'. That my character would be a police Sergeant with a marriage, a child, two cars, and a house seemed completely reasonable and attainable not just in-game, but in real-life, too. Now that I'm 30 and have lived the crushing weight of our hypercapitalist reality, that once reasonable idea now appears more like an exceptional aberration, and being 25 is neither 'old' nor does it make you particularly 'wise', I've discovered.

You can't really fault people for not having a couple decades of life experience if they haven't even been on this Earth for a couple decades, and I'm not really in the habit of confirming people's life experiences just so I can make a  judgment. I role-play my character in her mid-50's. Is it weird that she'll meet 20y/o's who own a business, are married, have a kid, and two cars? It sure wasn't weird to me when I was the one doing it. More importantly, that it was a bit fantastical and not strictly statistically accurate didn't really matter. I had fun, and I was within the allowable rules, and what my character had collected over his lifetime was done through role-play.

When you meet said 20y/os with a laundry list of accomplishments, it would be much more reasonable and generous to assume that they've accumulated those accomplishments through role-play. After all, you can get an astonishing amount done in one year in-game compared to a year in real-life -- nobody actually makes it to a Lieutenant from Academy in that time, for example. And aging up is always a weird and tricky thing when you have many people in your role-play orbit.

Most of the age issues I've seen are from people playing female characters because I assume they love to play the cute young girl in their "prime time" (usually in their early twenties on GTAW), no matter how much they've been through IC or what they have achieved. If there is no faction in the back to push for the time skip of some characters, you won't see some people do it on their own will ever.

Time on RP servers is always tricky and confusing for most and I think there is no perfect fix to it other than being the example yourself and aging up your characters when needed, showing that it is completely normal. Other than that, I'd say quality reports are also a very good option.

Roleplay quality reports have just been removed since some time now. There's no format or a point of contact to send them to.

Would be beautiful to have that back.

You can still bring any reasonable concerns with regards to rpq directly to us, they're handled internally now.

It’s pretty clear that a large majority of the population is in their early twenties. That being said, many of these people own a fair amount of businesses around the city or have high valued jobs in the city. I guess the question that has been pondering me is “Is someone in their early twenties who owns a business realistic?” I know this isn’t impossible yet something about it doesn’t feel accurate. I feel the same way when I see someone calling themselves a CEO while being only 22.

Aside from this thought, I also feel like there isn’t enough age diversity in the city. I RP as someone who is 33 and a majority of the time  when I go somewhere I’m usually the oldest person there. Because of this this it feels like I’m RPing with A bunch of kids. Does anybody else feel this way?

Now I just want to say that I don’t have anything against people choosing to RP in this age range. I’m always been a big “RP how you want to RP” kind of person. This post in no way has the intentions of bashing people who may fall into the category. Please don’t target me in any way for this as this post was meant to spark discussion.

When it comes to businesses, there is a larger problem than age. As you see, the businesses come and go like rain in Africa. People come, apply for them, run them for 2-3 months. I have been running Out of Towners for seventeen months now and I have seen like hundred or more businesses come and go - this is what is unrealistic and stupid.

And when it comes to those businesses, which are usually open IG (bars, restaurants, night clubs) - I totally agree here, because those kind of businesses are usually run by people, who have made it, which means end of twenties, early thirties, or older. We do not have many start-ups, which are usually those kind of businesses, which people at the age of 20-23 would go and try to have luck in.

Coming from a man IRL, the way some females are portrayed on GTA World is utterly fucking disgusting at times. From the shit they wear to the way they act, sometimes it feels like talking to a Southern Californian bimbo stereotype from 2006 and not another human being.

With that said, the fact that most of them will never age up because "women above 25 are old and ugly" just proves what kinda playerbase usually opts out to roleplay such characters - young, horny teenagers. They'll grow out of it eventually, let them have their fun for now.

As far as my opinion goes: I agree, and it doesn't only count for female characters. It counts for everyone. People assume that being in your thirties is being old, when in reality you're not even halfway into your life. Your thirties are basically like your twenties except you have more money, more free time and you're set off better in life. I literally do not understand why people refuse to roleplay anything above 25 but that's just what they want and you can't take it away from them.

When I made my character I made him to be 18 I then changed him to be 21 shortly after because I forgot about 21+ and after I made a decent amount of money I changed him to be 25. Now I am yet to make a change but the problem for me is that if I were to change my character's age from 25 to 30+ then everyone that my character knew (aged 20-25) will still be the same age (20-25) while my character will be much older than he was and that's why it doesn't make sense for me to change it.

Also most people are of the opinion that people should start younger so they make some kind of character development and thus it is recommended to start younger than older. I never understood this, I mean.. you can be whoever you want and how old you want if you can explain some story even if it is explained in a nutshell.
