Gruppe 6 Corporate Security & You

Personally, I have bee in a similar position to @Parker. I have been an on-off player ever since 2017 and lately actively started playing on the server this fall. I came across the different companies and all fancy features the server has to offer with a fairly unbiased mind and opinions on players, groups and factions - including Gruppe 6. I thought it was amazing to see a security company that not only covers the aspect of event security, but general security services you can get as a (well off) citizen or business owner - starting at risk assessment over installations to maintenance and check-ups.

I have been with Gruppe 6 on one of my characters and overall, it has been a pleasant stay. You go through a proper application process including an thorough interview. If accepted, you receive necessary training and introductions to your day-to-day work. How to use and not use the equipment (navigation through forums/reports, proper usage of the amber light bar, etc...).

Just like any other faction, Gruppe 6 has interesting and engaging characters as well as lesser interesting  ones and various grades of roleplay "quality". And this is completely fine, the majority of the interactions my character had were interesting and enjoyable and from my personal experience - Gruppe 6 is nowhere near the description of what it used to be in the past. As always, there are bad apples, but that is the case for any faction and it should not be the sole impression of the faction as a whole.

Are there areas that can be improved? Yes, there are. But the levels of toxicity towards the faction showcased in some of the posts here? Damn.

Back on topic. I loved to see some sort of advancement in your career and the opportunity to educate yourself in trainings for additional qualifications or fields of work (e.g. CIT). I believe it would be a good idea to pick up on that and offer more trainings - also tied to the day-to-day duties as it will not only allow for important factors explained, but also allowing some more on the portrayal of the faction and setting quality standards by going more in-depth on certain aspects or parts of the job as a Security Guard (e.g. gun safety, dealing with panic alarms 101, etc.).

I can really just boil this whole argument down to:

IC is IC.

I haven't had enough interactions to form a non-biased judgement/opinion about the faction, but what I will say, as playing as their long-time competitor (Executive Security), they definitely kept it interesting. Their faction's existence alone, prompted our company to push more and further. For those that bash G6, what's the point?

What do you hope to achieve? A cathartic relief?

We hired three G6 security guards for our store opening, and are hiring more for our upcoming events.

So far, every interaction we've had with G6, including the telephone booking process, has been great and role-played very well. Also, the RP of their sales personnel calling us back a few days after the event and gently reminding us that they also provide business and residential security systems was a nice touch.

The only concern I have is that we were really surprised how cheap it is for the per-hour guard rate!

Thanks. 🙂

I can't say I have the best outlook on G6 from a "quality of RP" angle, though I also don't pay a significant amount of attention to the faction and don't have anything specific to bring up that others have not. However, I will state that your OOC public relations need work, as everybody I've spoken to agrees that the flame wars your staff has engaged with (regardless of which side started them) is a poor look, in my opinion, and at the very least, the opinion of the five or so people I've discussed the matter with whom were watching as the drama unfolded in the PD thread. Maintaining professional and polite conduct is always better if your goal is to make people less hostile and more likely to respect you, and, similarly, making claims that cannot be substantiated with evidence is generally damaging to public image.

Consider this exchange.

Not to be a asshole or something, but i am going to explain it in a pretty harsh way. the only reason G6 is failing and being made fun of is because 80% of G6 consists of females with bright colorful hair that are there for 1 reason, find a relationship with another female G6 member. And they all have experience in being a top A-grade master security guard and hand to hand combat specialist.

Sorry but what the fuck did I just read?

Currently within Gruppe Six there is only one female with bright hair and that's me. Alongside that, within the last month, there had not been a hand-to-hand altercation with anyone.

Currently, on our roster, there is 21 males and 6 females.

Please, if you're gonna spell out lies, at least TRY.

I don't wish to discuss which party is right in this situation. I think it's fair to say, however, that the first post by Alma is harshly worded, as they themselves admitted. Biscuit responded to this with an equally harsh reply. This is not how you do PR. Engaging in heated arguments with critics, no matter how harsh said critics may be, damages your reputation terribly. It's hard to articulate the precise reasons why it's such a bad look, as it's inherently an intuitive issue, but it creates the appearance of being emotional and unprofessional as a faction; defensive, and unwilling to listen to criticism. Are any of these traits actually present in G6? I don't know, but people will believe so if it appears that way.

That entire chain has similar interactions, but I've already summarised the issue, I think. In short, if you want to be respected in the community, you need to rethink your PR strategy.

EDIT: I forgot to put this in here when I intended to. I get why it's so easy to respond to a harsh comment with a harsh comment. That's human. I'm just saying it won't lead to a good result. Anyway, thanks for reading.

I love Group Six. I was skeptical for a long time about hiring security for my businesses but decided to take the plunge. I have to say I am blown away by your dedicated and RP to it from an OOC perspective. When ever I call /call 707 I get a call back with in 15 mins, it's really damn cool to see you guys coming to my house, my businesses etc etc.

I can't understand the negative coming your way but all I can say is keep it up!

habeeb ur the best RPer I've ever seen keep it up with the habeeb english

I suggest you address your grievances with the faction directly instead of flaming on another faction's topic.

I suggest you to stop painting yourself a victim in an attempt to backseat mod against someone apparently derailing the discussion while derailing it yourself.

You've brought up an argument to back up your statement. I've addressed that argument. To me, it looks like you're getting butthurt over it.

If anything, the lot of you jumping to "save the faction from flamers" are derailing the discussion from /actual proper feedback/ given to the faction and its PR a few pages ago. But by all means, keep it up if you want to resort to back-and-forth bickering.

As for the comments that say "security guards are just wannabe cops" - that's not a bad thing at all.

You're right and I've never understood why people are angry about it, It's one of the biggest "issues" I always see brought up regarding G6 and can be 100% dealt with IC.

If anything I want to see MORE shithead security guards - ones that believe they're the law and act out of their range of "power" so to speak but honestly?

People can't separate IC and OOC and would assume you actually think you're some cool OOC edge lord for playing a power tripping security guard IC which would loop back to the same stuff we're talking about in this thread so I doubt it'd be worth it, sucks because there's a ton of controversial but interesting characters you could make but if they touch on anything "taboo" or different you'll be ran out of the community and mocked for it OOC, think Skye Love (?) for example, I digress though.

Regarding G6, I honestly think with how the community works the leader would be better off gutting the entire thing and starting something new as a brand because I can promise you, this cesspool of a community isn't going to change it's mind, I bet they're all mocking the thread in their private discords as we speak.

Ever since I contracted G6 over half a year ago I noticed a lot of people hating on the faction, but I chose to ignore it and see how the RP goes.

From my experience G6 is a very good portrayal of regular security companies that patrol businesses, warehouses, respond to alarms and provide other services. Yes, I did have couple occasions of a member having bad roleplay or simply a bad portrayal, lack of passive rp. But as ZaXer pointed out they are entry level faction and it is nice to see members of the community enjoying the security role and I am sure higher ranking members in t the faction are there to help and teach them.

I remember one day I logged in early afternoon and my character stepped outside and it just so happened there were two security officers checking up on the property. I roleplayed drinking a cup of coffee as I just woken up and had a chat with them, It was super immersive way to start my gaming session.

Other times I had it when I had to press a panic button and G6 showed up faster than the police and created an amazing RP scene.

Also I have never seen G6 act like the police, no idea where that comes from.

10/10 faction keep doing what you doing much love.
