Please don't add anymore snow after this one, here's why. [POLL ATTACHED]

From my experience with working in the game industry (mostly mobile games and one PC game), there's an average of 10% of your audience that actually get involved in the community one way or another. Sure, that number can fluctuate per how broad or niche a game is, but I've found that 10% is a good guess as far as most titles and communities go.

It's frustrating to me personally that management decided to go with a day-long (or even less?) poll in a place that's fairly not known for having mature and serious discussions. If anything, it's known to have a rather small number of very vocal players whose approach to the lore of GTAW is a tiny bit different than that of the continuity team.

I don't know if a forum vote is going to yield better results, but I'm wholly convinced that the majority of players in the game do not want to play around with snow. And it's again frustrating to see management appeal to that vocal minority instead of staying true to the idea that GTAW is supposed to be a heavy RP server.

so snow proves GTA:W to be a light RP server, ok

kind of agree with this

i think having snow is nice to spice things up a bit. its only for 2 days. it 'breaks' interiors by snowing inside, but i feel like that's pretty easy to look over

About the interiors part, an admin probably Pillsbury announced that: Nervous will come online and get a fix (if that's a majority issue) secondly "snow" addition is something new to the roleplay. If you are opposed to it. Many people supported it, that's why it won in the first place. So, It's really not immersion breaking except you realistically driving a car, not drifting in the corners and wearing appropriate clothing like jackets and sweaters.

It's clearly not /immersion-breaking/ as It's claimed to be. It's just a test-addition, opposing it for like (mere 2 days) won't get anyone anything.

It's not immersion-breaking for you, but it is for others. You don't get to decide what's immersion-breaking for me, and hey — I don't get to decide it for you either.

Although, if you have a lot of people discontent with it and claiming it breaks the immersion for them, there /is/ an issue.

The point of the continuity team is to handle the lore. If they decide that San Andreas indeed exists in a tad harsher climate, we're going to have snow. But that is something that needs to have been cleared for a lot of people before they even approached the game. The /goal/ of having a team responsible for the lore is to make sure we're all starting in the same origin. It wouldn't really work if some of us were RPing this as LA while the other half would be for LS. It wouldn't make sense if some of us believed that COVID is happening in the world while others wouldn't.

It's about getting everyone on equal grounds, and as much as I sympathize with your wishes to have snow, they interfere with my wishes to have a realistic setting to roleplay in.

Do me a favor and go back to Discord (or better yet, LSRP) with that attitude.

i didnt show any attitude but ok, you yourself said:

that clearly means that adding snow doesn't uphold the standard of the server but degrades it

EDIT: I don't know what your mindset is and why you told me to go back to LSRP (when I didn't even play it much) - so, if any attitude is shown. It's your side and I didn't choose anything to prove /immersion/ in your eyes. Snow is realistic, just not in the server's current weather system and how it is portrayed but it happens IRL aswell. It's not they added snow in like- June, they added it in november and gave us enough days to get a decision, you disrespecting everyone and calling the winning majority a minority and calling yourself a great intellectual isn't the right way, bud. No more questions or answers, ending this.

Okay, sorry then.

Yes, I believe it does. To me, adding snow means overlooking the hard facts that it wouldn't snow in San Andreas, sacrificing realism for the sake of fun (for some members of the community).

"Since official records were first kept in 1877, the downtown Los Angeles weather station observed measurable snowfall three times, in 1882, 1932, and 1949, and news reports recorded snowfall elsewhere in the Los Angeles Basin in 1913, 1921, 1922, 1926, 1944, 1957, 1962 – and then never again, for 54 years running."
