In a show of incredible generosity and respect, today citizens of Blaine County supported their Los Santos Fire Department through kind donations at the Sunday church service, hosted by Sadie Hennesy at the Hill Valley Church off Route 68. The church is a staple of the county’s community and we were honored to arrange the fundraiser with them that turned out to be largely successful, accumulating over $125,000 for the department.

At the service, Battalion Chief Roxie Bauer said a few words, talking about the department's commitment to a reliable service, in the context that response times in the county have largely improved since the establishment of Station Four in Sandy Shores, and Station One in Paleto Bay. She said that they’re humbled to enter the county’s community once more; and we welcome them to our family.
 

While there is no official word on what the donations will go towards, we can speculate that it will go towards the aforementioned stations in providing fleet members and the likes, probably with a focus in voluntary recruitment advertisement so that they can expand their county companies and provide the best possible service they can outside of the city.

Sadly today was not all a happy day for the county and the fire department, in that later in the evening, the Sandy Shores Motel caught afire in a large multi-story blaze, the fire has since been concluded and there is no public word as of yet to what caused the fire. We expect that there will likely be a press release in the coming days going further into detail, no civilians were harmed at the scene.

The blaze, while very sad, shows the ultimate need for the fast response times that they’ve recently improved in the county, and we’d like to thank them both for making an effort to better integrate themselves with us, and for attending the event. A special thanks goes to Sadie Hennesy and the Hill Valley Church for allowing us to fundraise at their Sunday service, as well as a thank you to our kind residents for their generous donations.
