Why were forum signatures removed?

They were just removed as a part of a forum update we've had a while back. I've inquired about this and it was meant to be a test run unless I'm mistaken about things. At this point, I'm very used to it but would not mind them back.

I heard some people had ridiculously long signatures with gifs, images, etc, often which would be longer than the posts they were making.

Forum signatures are obnoxious.

 

If they come back, there should be an option to not have them displayed on your end.

I think the forums are much nicer without signatures, that said if they do allow them I hope they're only permitted for a small space.

Pixel height can be limited, as far as I know, at least we had that feature in some old forums...

While I do agree, some people do want to put signatures, and that's fine, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring them back with the option of toggling them on your end, and with rules about them (can't go over certain size, etc).

Unnecessary imo - for text and stuff, I get it, but having images and gifs just litters the thread.
