Perma Death, forced CK?

I'm going to write down here a suggestion I'd like to make but It needs further discussion, see if you guys like it:

1. Player that gets killed have PKed char unavaliable for 5 days so it doens't fuck up anyones roleplay. The player that killed the other have 24h to write down a CK request and the PKed player have the right to answer ONCE to the topic and both can only talk again in the topic if requested by the handling admin.

2. If the Pked player feels that it was DM he has the same amount of time to fill up a normal forum report. Admins can revoke the 5 day char avaliablity if the report is deemed valid.

3. If the CK is deemed not valid, life goes on and after the 5 days the player can use his char again

4. If the CK is deemed valid, the player never comes back.

So it's a way to do it and I think it's fair and increase the fear of dying and doing stupid without creating a rain of reports. Five days  is enough for the admin team to review a well written app and defense. And no one is going to risk staying 5 days out of their char and do stupid stuff.

Nah cause people kill for dumbass reasons 80% of the time and admins already have enough shit to deal with. Having a billion appeals a day would be even worse for them. Criminal RPers tend to provoke civilian RPers over the dumbest shit as well acting like its some euro village or a favela and not America, and end up killing them so that would only add to the issue too. Just no. Perma death sounds appealing but in reality it's not. PKs are a thing for a reason. The only time permadeath works is when everyone cares more about roleplaying than they do upsetting people oocly or trash talking people that don't roleplay the same thing as them. If people were all on the same level of standard for roleplay and ooc courtesy, this would be an absolutely amazing way to have the server, but people aren't, so it'll just be a shit show. A lot of people would quit if they're forced to CK after working hard on building up a character with dev and whatever else, only to lose it because some skinhead rper for example walks up and starts antagonizing and provoking them and ends up killing them thus ending their character abruptly over a shitty encounter. It simply doesn't work.

Locking people out of their characters is not a good idea. If they get PKed they shouldn't just stop being able to rp. The idea's that they forget that RP and continue on with their day. Being locked out of being able to do that is just going to force alts where alts aren't wanted and eventually drive people out of the server. That's not really a good suggestion at all. You shouldn't be punished oocly for being killed?? It's roleplay. If you CK, you make a new character and move on, if you PK, you continue on and forget that RP happened and treat it as if it was someone else. It creates bad plot holes in the RP but that's a side effect of PK's in general. It's something that's needed with GTA RP. This format and a lot of the players involved with it doesn't really support that kinda stuff, unless you wanna be playing on a 30 player server after everyone quits. The people that want permadeath can simply do the one life rule for their own character like a lot of people (myself included) do, where if you die in a proper rped situation you just CK on your own accord. Don't force things on people, it's what kills servers.

Correct. They will just self-CK their current character to avoid penalties and start fresh with a new character to continue engaging in unsafe activities because they never really were invested in their actual character to begin with.

The only people harmed by this are people who invest time and effort into role-playing their character. This does nothing to stop random and needless PKs.

Correction: This actually makes random and needless PKs worse, as with the proposed rule change, roleplayers that contribute more than just 'pew pew yer ded' would have yet another hurdle to overcome with a.mandatory wait time before they can roleplay again, whereas the people that can conjure random reasons for "being provoked" by someone reading a magazine, can simply skip the process via the CK of their week old character.
