Hide identity over radio

Short description: Hide the identity of /r users.

Detailed description: When using a radio frequency, have it show an ID rather than the name of the person. The reason why it should be an ID and not a universal "Voice says:" is because you would be able to stop people from breaking rules over /r (giving you the ability to report them). Overall, you shouldn't be able to use the radio as a global IC channel and I'm surprised how this has not been changed before. It is what most people use it for, it is highly unrealistic and it serves no purpose to the overall idea of realism that we're trying to portray.

How would your suggestion improve the server?

Additional information: If Jack says "Come here, bro", then John shouldn't be able to come there just because they know where Jack is. Also, recognizing voices over radio stations doesn't work. Especially not if that radio channel has more than 10 people on it.

No thanks. It will be too complicated to regognize who talks.

That's exactly the point. That's the reason why the PD, FD, even trucking companies. use callsigns and badge numbers. You shouldn't know who talks on the radio.

I disagree.

I reckon that you'd be able to make out people's voices quite easily over a radio frequency.

It is still not realistic to have a radio frequency with 200+ truckers and make out everyone's voice. That's what's currently happening. It's like a group call with hundreds of people. Those aren't even the problem, but civilian-used radios are, where no one uses any identifier and everyone talks as if they were next to each other. There's a reason why, in reality, people use identifiers over the radio.

Seems more like a quality control issue than an issue that requires valuable development time.

Being honest with you, I see why on an MG basis that this would be a good idea (If you don't know a persons voice, it'd stop people MGing through the name given in the chat). But, generally. It doesn't matter. If you're just using callsigns etc. Then why feel the need to remove the name?

FD actually use last names AND callsigns. So, unsure where you got this from?

Not sure how changing the player name with the mask ID, withouth the "Mask_" part is "valuable development time". It sure takes some time, it's not a huge modification though.

It was just an example to a previous remark. In a realistic scenario, those talking over a radio channel would identify themselves through various means. They don't just know who they are talking to. The issue is not with the people who do use callsigns and identifiers, but with the groups of friends, racers, gangsters and so on that just use /r and metagame. It's not a huge issue, it's not urgent and it's a small fix until a larger revamp of the radio stations can be developed and implemented.
