What am I doing wrong?

Just make a character you really like, find something to make your own and socialize and see what kind of stuff you can get involved with. Everything always falls in place if you don’t force it. The most important part is having a good character and legitimate premise, just like real life the rest comes with time and whichever way your social circles develop. The only thing you should do to influence where you’re roughly headed is by picking a place to start. For example, are you gonna roleplay our of Jamestown or are you gonna hang out up in Sandy Shores? 
 

I think the best advice anyone can give is just to get involved. Don’t put soo much pressure onto yourself and the game. Create your own stuff, people aren’t going to cater an experience for you. You are part of the experience.
