Lomadias
It's that time again, another year has passed and we again recognize the month of October as the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is vital that we use this month to educate as many people and spread as much insight and understanding as possible. Cancer does not discriminate and it may touch the lives of you or those closest to you. It is important to understand early warning signs on breast cancer and what can do if you're concerned. So what can you do? Know your normal: Be comfortable with your body, check regularly so you can identify unusal lumps and bumps. Remember, men get this too. Don't be shy, know your body. Take a few extra minutes in the shower and look for any visible changes or discomfort. Think - have you had any pain, prolonged bouts of coughing or headaches that aren't normal to you? Get a screening: If you feel something unusual, you're over 40 or you know you're at risk, don't take the chance! Book your screening at Pillbox today. If there are any early signs, this could save your life. Five minutes out of your day may save years of your future, don't delay it, just do it. Don't rely on the internet to tell you your prognosis, speak to a medical professional. Prevention: Cancer doesn't wait, it can strike at any time. It's key to take the appropriate measures as early as possible to reduce your chances. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and knowing your family history is key to this. Limit your alcohol intake and exercise regularly to improve your overall health and lower the chance of disease. Speak to your family about your history, does it run in the family? Speak to your doctor and create a personalized plan to monitor for signs of the disease. Don't take it for granted. A message from Pillbox Quote "Breast cancer is a silent force among men and women alike, whilst it is true that women tend to contract it more its equally important men also look out for the signs. Something as simple as checking for lumps in the shower can go a long way to spotting signs early enough that treatment is at its most effective. And if you regularly consume alcohol, its recommended to check weekly. Whilst most lumps are harmless, if you spot something its important to go see a Doctor, particularly if its a new lump. We at Pillbox can conduct screenings if you find anything to be concerned about, so don't hesitate to ask!" Director Shaw, Oct-21. Pillbox Hill Medical center is proud to showcase the most recent renovation to the facility, set to further enhance the service by improving operational efficiency within the Emergency Department. The changes will ensure that our patients continue to receive the best of the best medical care in the most efficient and caring way possible. With the completion of the renovations, the new ER can support more patients than ever, helping to bring the service to more members of the community at a more consistent level as we see huge improvements to the capacity and flexibility of the department. Our staff operate the ER 24/7 and their professionalism and dedication to the role speaks volumes for the medical field within Los Santos. Staffing levels vary based on patient volume however it can be assured that there is always a capable professional on hand. The grand opening of the new ER took place on Thursday 14th October 2021, and was nothing short of an overwhelming success as patients were treated with the newest equipment by our line of incredible staff. The hospital is now better prepared to meet the needs of it’s patients that rely on it’s services on a daily basis. The ER's entrance as shown above provides a welcoming feel for our patients or the family of patients, ensuring a comfortable wait whilst at the facility. With a modern touch, the hospital is brought into the 21st century and demonstrates the commitment to both the standards and expectations for the hospital. The seating area contains the necessary facilities for those waiting, providing an area for drinks and snacks as well as restrooms. The new ER also contains a small break room for our EMT's at the Los Santos Fire Department. Long shifts and stressful scenes take their toll on the best of us, so being able to prove somewhere for those so vital to the healthcare system to take a moment to collect themselves is something Pillbox is proud to bring. We also have a consultancy room just off from the waiting room where a professional can make an immediate call on the next best steps for treatment for their patient. The entry and nurses station for the ER has been completely re-designed with a new sleek and modern approach to healthcare. Our nurses have an area overlooking the ER where they can monitor patients efficiently and act with speed when urgent attention is required. The department also welcomes overhauled trauma bays where the team will attend to more serious emergencies requiring immediate medical intervention. Overhauling the areas for our patient's stay with us was at the forefront of the renovation. Not only can the team provide the best medical care in the State, however the overall customer experience has been improved dramatically, setting a high bar for any to follow. For the longest time, Pillbox has been dedicated to providing outstanding medical care to those in need, this project has been in the works for some time and now we are proud to unveil it. While we wish every patient's stay was short and successful, the nature of the Medical field often deals with distressing scenario's. For these patients, this new face of the ER will allow us to ensure they recieve the best care and are as comfortable as possible during their stay. Quote "With the opening of our new ER we hope our ability to service higher demand in volume for our patients, as well as provide a cleaner and more environment for recovery" Director Danielle Shaw 1 Link to comment
