Prison payphone functionality

Short description: Make the prison payphones function.

Detailed description:  Currently we can't make any IC call or anything in prison. We should be able to use the public payphones when guards are on duty. They could use a command like /listenin [payphone number] to listen in on the conversation.

Commands to add: /listenin [payphone number]

Items to add: no.

How would your suggestion improve the server? Realism and better prison roleplay / playtime.

This is already planned to be implemented, it just takes time.

Any word on this? Seems weird that people can't contact the outside for lawyers and such if they're in prison without illegally doing it with a smuggled in phone.

We definitely need this. I have seen many people ask questions regarding how they can call people in prison. I have also been in prison before on one of my characters and have wanted to call someone, but just cannot do it.

I’m sure this is a simple thing to script yet I have a few concerns. Phone calls in jail aren’t free. Inmates can either earn a very small income by doing jobs such as laundry, cooking, special projects etc. They can also be given a certain amount of deposited money from a family member or friend. That being said, they would have to implement a sort of bank system where deputies can pay them money for their work and can also be deposited by other players. If we’re aiming for that kind of realism, it may be a bit of a bigger project.

 

TL;DR Yes I agree! But the scripting may take some time because of how they go about being allowed to make a call.
