While the recent war, which left dozens of organized crime figures dead on the streets of Los Santos, may have given the impression that the Los Santos La Cosa Nostra was severely weakned, reports from anonymous investigators from both the Sheriff's Department and the Police Department state the opposite. 

In fact, it appears that the West Coast mob, which has ties to the five families of New York along with the Philadelphia crime family, is currently thriving. Reputed Colombo soldier, Angelo Sisca, whose position within the Los Santos group is unknown at this moment, has recently been elected as president of Local 66, the union that registers longshoremen and holds influence over the Los Santos Port. 

While officials have always maintained that the Los Santos crime group has always had a solid grip and influence over the port, they now believe that the criminal organization has solidified their grip on the 300-billion-a-year transit, which will allow them to facilitate various rackets, such as narcotics and firearms trafficking, contract bidding and stolen vehicle trafficking.

A recent internal report for the Western Association of Insurers reveals a sharp increase in vehicle theft in the area. Moreover, a recent operation, conducted jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia (DIA), Italy's anti-mafia investigative body, seized over a hundred stolen cars, with five of them having been stolen and exported from Los Santos. The shipping manifesto for the exporting and receiving entreprises were filed under false names and addresses, with operatives within both ports being responsible for tampering with the shipping manifesto and labels to incorporate the stolen vehicles on the ship.
