I personally don’t believe this is necessary. You can roleplay it if you wish, but this just seems unnecessary to have as an actual script.

Exactly. Roleplaying is not about immitating real life, it's about creating a story, just like reading a book and developing it as you go. Books don't usually point out when characters go to the bathroom, take a shower or, well, charge their phones. Is it cool to do every now and then? Yes. Should you be forced to do it? No.
