One thing I hear a lot is "so friends don't spam eachother's posts with likes." If they do, who cares? Like...why does that matter? Let them spam eachother's posts with likes. It's not like the "like" system gives you any sort of reward ,IC or OOC. It does give you forum reputation, determining some players out of comparing division. Players with 1000+ reputation are ones that have posted the most viable suggestions, comments etc. Basically, to determine the individual. Link to comment

If a suggestion is a good suggestion, it shouldn't matter if it's coming from a -50 or a +500, right? Link to comment

Only the ones who put them can give us a better insight on why. Link to comment

onefortyseven
In support of this suggestion. There's absolutely no need to have the likes/reactions limited to 2/day. It just causes people to quote the posts they might agree with and post 'useless' one word comments such as 'support' and whatnot. Honestly, it'd be the best if the like/reaction limit was removed and 'like/reaction updates' or however you call them were removed from the 'all activity' page as that'd cause a lot spam without the reaction limit. 'Community reputation' itself can stay to be honest, it's literally not important at all, it's just a glorified like counter and it doesn't really make much difference in how others see you as a person and a member of the community. People shouldn't really think that higher community reputation = more 'clout'. 1 Link to comment

Sting McGee
Bump, please consider this. To echo what's been said already, here's the solution: Remove the reputation counter from applaud and thanks, so that it simply becomes a good way to acknowledge posts. Leave the like limit on upvote so that there is some importance to an upvote, where someone thinks this idea or post is so good, that it deserves one of their limited daily upvotes. Otherwise people can use their thanks and applaud however much they want, with no affect on the reputation of the poster. I think reputation has a place here, but in a limited capacity. @Everett Link to comment
Dom.
Bump. Invision software supports no reaction limits. If GTAForums can do it, so can we. Link to comment
