Escort / Private Dancer / Massage ads.

Hello, as it is known, a restriction was imposed for escort ads, but since this restriction was imposed, escort ads have been replaced by private dancer and massage ads. The rule can be bypassed in this way, I think and suggest that such private dancer and massage ads whose purpose is ERP, should also be restricted.

Unfortunately this is exactly how illegal advertisements are bypassed IRL, so as much as I detest seeing them, I think they should be allowed.

I don't think just using the /ad script and meeting someone is a sufficient level of roleplay, especially for this kind of roleplay. To make it more realistic, players could try different things. For example, I'll leave the following video below.

 

 

Players who want to roleplay as a prostitute can provide a more realistic atmosphere for both LEOs and other players in this way.

I don't think it should be restricted, whatsoever.  I had this discussion already with some players, there are two problems with this.

 

Firstly,  server rules don't state that you can't advertise dances and/or massages... One might think so, but if you do, you are wrong. 

Namely, while rules don't state explicitly that dancing/massage ads are not allowed, the logical conclusion between illegal activity and this kind of advert can be drawn. Therefore, posting these "hidden escort" ads is already forbidden. 

Rules state the following:

However, outright banning ads containing the words dancers/massage hinders the opportunity for RP for those wanting to RP real dancers or massage therapists, therefore this isn't the solution. ( Before you laugh, I understand there is not a lot of folks wanting to RP real massage therapist.)

I believe that advertisement rules ( in general) have been put in place so someone doesn't pump out unrealistic ads, while... While we all know that some ads about messages/ dancers hide escort services behind it, I believe it isn't unrealistic, therefore I believe that it's a good opportunity for LEO factions to call these ads and try to make RP out of it. 

So, it's -1 for me, after long and hard thinking.

Not all escorts are prostitutes, not prostitutes are escorts. The video you shared, shows people working the street for, often, petty cash. A true Escort often charges $1000-$1500/hr, with some of the high-end ones making $10k-$15k a month on average. Yes, there should be more street walkers in-game, but we can't ignore the fact there are 'Escorts' too.

Ultimately... -1 on this suggestion.

 

The removal of escort ads are a good thing overall as we don't need to see a board full of people offering escort services. I understand people may think that escorts / prostitutes are offering their services in magazines / newspapers, but I wouldn't be surprised if 9/10 of those ads are just police honeypots to catch Johns.

 

Not all private dancers, masseuses, and other "hands on" RP lines of work are inherently sexual or looking to act as a prostitute. Are there of course some that do? Absolutely - but admins work to weed those out on the daily.

 

We shouldn't step backwards because people are finding ways to bend / circumvent the rules, and we shouldn't hinder peoples ability to perform their RP if they are trying to stay within the boundaries of the rules we have set.

I'm 99% sure the whole point of the rule change was to actually restrict what you're describing. So this is already against the rules if the actual motivation is escorting.

You can't really restrict people "hiding" services under front ads, because people can do that with basically any sort of ad you can imagine. Straight prostitution on ads was something else, because encouraged an unrealistic portrayal of the act (Rich, luxury and hobbying prostitution rather than out of need). Private dancers and masseuses are another line entirely, and there's nothing wrong with those.
