How do you make connections?

How do you make connections? Like seriously. I have a problem with going up to people, and being so dry, I don't even know what to say, how to keep the convo going and all. I'm literally just stuck on "Hello"

I know this sounds like a PERSONAL problem but I literally don't have this problem In real life.

Well, what I can recommend is to treat this like it's IRL. Do what you would do IRL when you start a conversation, but this time it's in-game.

 

Ask about their day, their name, anything you see on the spot, or anything. Most people are welcoming, and you can talk with anybody. Go up to the social events on the server, like acoustic shows, car meets, or things like that. It's a bit more complicated on bars and clubs, but if you think you can, then go ahead!

There's also the option of making a facebrowser account which is like the GTAW version of facebook. Of course there's a lot of spicy pictures
and thirst traps, but if you can get past that there's a bunch of RP to be had from there. Lots of drama and interesting connections happened
from that website. Also, it sometimes keeps you up to date on what's happening, recently I was laughing my ass off with the Vanderbilt sisters
shenanigans and with the Coleman Fund thing. I'd check it out.

Think about it from another angle.

 

How could someone approach you and make it interesting for you? What kind of interaction would be memorable for you? Do this.

Also, social media of course.

Just start a conversation. Most people are willing to talk/RP. Bounce off each other.

Completely disagree.

 

Think about where people make friends in real life. Work, school, strike up conversation in a bar, coffee shop. Loads of places.

 

Some will be one off encounters, others less so. That’s just the roll of the dice. But it’s important to maintain relationships with those you do vibe with.

I've got three active characters and I've ensured I've kept them separate from any OOC friendships, making sure I create new stories.

 

To the OP, find open businesses (not just bars and clubs) and get to know owners, they will appreciate the RP too, interact with conversations within the business. 

 

Taking your car to a garage? Have a chat with those waiting around for their cars to be worked on etc.
