Azalea Deng's tale will play out through the pages of this character thread.

This is the story of a sixteen year old Chinese-American girl exploring life around Mission Row, Textile City, Simmet Alley and Hong Lan Tong. She has family in the area by means of a mother, father, and cousins.

The story begins with her sixteenth birthday. Azalea has been living a sheltered life and repressed for so long that it was inevitable she would begin to act up and following some disobedient behaviour at school along with vandalising a classroom she was not allowed a birthday party, turning what should be a memorable and joyous occasion for anyone into a glum afternoon in the apartment, uncomfortably trapped with her parents and unsure how to process her feelings about the situation. She made a conscious decision that evening to stop letting her parents dictate the course of her life.

She faces strong pressure at home to focus on her academic studies despite still being a junior at Vespucci High. When the school day draws to a close Azalea's afternoons tend to include several hours shut in her room forced to do any homework she has, and if not to study endlessly on various subjects. Her mother turns the internet off which makes researching harder but also prevents her from being sidetracked and distracted. She's tired of the monotonous routine.

Infilitrating her cousins' social circle has became her current goal as she looks to make meaningful friendships outside of school and around where she calls home.

Years spent growing up around Chinatown gave Azalea Deng a keen insight into what it really means to live in Los Santos. Key community figures continue to play an influential role in her life, offering advice on anything Deng feels comfortable to bring to them -- of course, a growing woman has some secrets she feels she must safeguard even from her closest associates.

Once protected and sheltered Deng now moves in a restrained fashion within criminal circles, making associates all over the state. Her position as manager at Dynasty Karaoke Lounge allows her an opportunity to brush shoulders with all types, as does her day job as an executive assistant at Aura Enterprise.
