Pengu
Detailed Description: Adding this as another suggestion, as mentioned in the other suggestion regarding changes to the /robhouse command. I’d like to address the issue where people don’t seem to care about their houses being broken into. There are multiple houses in high-end areas where owners don’t even bother buying a security alarm from the hardware store because they don’t lose anything except getting a single notification that the house has been broken into. This creates an environment where homeowners are indifferent to their property being robbed with a simple /robhouse command. Since we have already discussed that house robberies shouldn’t be completed within just two to three minutes, if the other suggestion is implemented, I hope to see changes where homeowners also face consequences if a house robbery is performed correctly. As someone who has been on both sides, I feel that if I break into a house and the owner doesn’t care, and I can end up in jail for up to five days, there is no point in taking the risk. Therefore, I suggest that if a house robbery is successfully performed, the homeowner should lose something, perhaps furniture, but the most practical option would be losing some money from their bank account. People should care about securing their properties. Having your house broken into shouldn't be something you just shrug off with a simple "Oh, it was just a /robhouse, nothing to worry about" and then go about your day. Houses in areas like Lake Vinewood, Rockford Hills, and Vinewood Hills should all be equipped with security alarms. It’s completely unrealistic for a character to be willing to pay up to 2.5 million dollars for a property (if we consider a 1:1 ratio) and not invest in a basic security system from the hardware store or from any security company on the market. Therefore, if someone decides not to secure their house, or if a break-in is successful, the homeowner should face some loss. House break-ins are already not very profitable for criminal roleplayers since the items can only be sold for up to $10,000. Most people do it for character development, and the same should apply to property owners. If their house has been broken into, they should roleplay the consequences properly, and their roleplay should also be affected by the event. Relevant Commands/Items: N/A How will it benefit the server? This would change the way the community views house break-ins. As mentioned above, people usually don't care as long as it’s not a /breakin. Therefore, changes need to be made so that both parties are affected: either one side fails and faces several days in prison, or they succeed in their attempt, and the property owner loses some assets. If you feel it's not worth doing crime because someone else isn't being victimized, you might want to look for other motivations -1, sounds incredibly annoying Link to comment

For your own role play enjoyment and you also get financial gain from doing it. Why does someone else have to be hurt in the process? You also have to remember their house can be robbed every 24 hours, which is in no way realistic, but it appeases the amount of people on the server committing crime. If assets were lost every time someone robbed their house, they'd be broke. I can't agree that would be good for anyone. -1 Edited September 3 by LatencyLord 4 Link to comment
Caramel
-1 For this reason as well. Then when everyone starts installing the home security systems then people will complain about that. 15 minutes ago, LatencyLord said: For your own role play enjoyment and you also get financial gain from doing it. Whiskey
I don't think the home owner feeling bad or losing items should be the purpose of you choosing to do burglary as a means of making money. Getting caught is also on you and not the home owner, they've 0 responsibility in the decisions you make as a player or a character. I'm all for talking about revamping these scripts to make them better but this is the wrong mindset to have for it. Link to comment
