Tasting Notes:

Marlowe's Cabernet Sauvignon marks the first entrant in a collection of reserve wines that receive specialist ageing and attention to offer high-profile clients a superb selection of higher-priced wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2020 presents a deep garnet core with violet edges with an aroma of blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, cedarwood, graphite and a hint of tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and rich with velvety tannins coupled with notes of dark cherry, cassis, mocha and vanilla spice. As you swallow this beautiful wine, you would note a smooth, dense mouthfeel with a structured finish of subtle earthy undertones and elegant oak integration.

Food Pairing:

Marlowe's Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with a range of high grade red meat including grilled ribeye steak or braised short ribs, or in the colder months, a rich and indulgent venison stew. We've found this also pairs well with aged cheeses like sharp cheddar or Comté. And for our vegan clients, we recommend Portobello Mushroom Burgers with caramelized onions.

Winemaking:

Marlowe's Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 was hand-picked in late October from Hillside blocks in the Tongva Hills and has been aged since it was known as Crawford's Winery. The wine was subject to small-lot fermentation with daily punch-downs and was first aged for 22 months in 60% new French Oak barrels. This wine was bottled unfiltered to ensure it preserved its complexity and character.

Marlowe's Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect match for celebratory dinners and milestone moments in your lives. Or sitting fireside in those cooler months either under the San Andreas night-sky or cosied up by a fireplace engaging in rich conversation. For collectors, we recommend cellaring this wine for 5-10 years which will unlock a deeper nuance to impress discerning Cabernet lovers around the glove.
