Drugs and Los Santos

They created the virtual NPC stolen goods buyers for the /robhouse feature. Money is server generated right? Why not create a similar system for drug buyers? 

 

- Create a dynamically changing system based on how "in-demand" a drug is based on the server supply. If there's a lot of one drug actively in the server supply (maybe a once daily check?), the price the virtual buyers are willing to pay goes down. The less of a drug that exists on the server, the higher they are willing to pay. 

 

You can whine all you want about this being RPG'ish, but there's never going to be real demand outside of a niche group of players. We have to learn to compromise for the better of the server. It can be done.

if only we could explore more drug opportunities, but hey ho all we got was a veto and being told to shut up about it because it'll never happen. 

 

should be a realism issue, because west coast liberal mindset and increasing % of states legalizing it IRL, but that's the divide between what we rp and what we don't.

 

as for its impact on illegal rp, the veto was done to protect illegal rp but has done considerably more harm than opening the door to a legal system that benefits illegal factions. you wont ever get a profitable supply because the demand will always be low when its kept illegal. not worth the risk outside of small groups who don't give a shit about corruption rules and the clause that you cannae violate the law in x or y position.

Also mind, supply of drugs to fundamentally legal RPers has been severely damaged over the years by people constantly scamming potential buyers, the kind to want to RP taking a bump of coke in the club or smoking a joint at home and who fundamentally exist very removed from the source (organised crime).

 

I absolutely get that this is an IC issue, but dealers (or alleged dealers) settling for a quick profit on people who base their RP around recreational use has put a big fat wall in the drug market.

 

tl;dr: some people have been shitting where they eat too long for a significant nightclub level trade.

real shit devs need to read this entire thread because i think 80% of drugs end up in circulation, only 20% if not less are consumed. there has to be a big consumer, not reseller demand, which will never exist, so instead create a virtual / npc demand and a virtual / npc market

This idea you kill the drug market. Because then there will be no incentive for drugs other than RP. The incentive for people to by drug IRL is to get high. You can only RP getting high so you have to give some sort of IG benefits for drugs or no one will buy it outside of only RP purposes.

Guys, almost everything you said on here is very true and you're right, but I don't get why so many people are advocating for the removal of drug HP?  It would be the last nail in the coffin for illegal drug trade. Yes, ideally players should be roleplaying around drugs for the RP over the HP it gives you, but unfortunately you can't expect that from people, so why take the usefulness out of drugs?
