Well, according the law, any type of blade which is longer than 3" is illegal to be carried around or kept in a vehicle, sold or purchased or transfered in LA on which LS is based upon. This includes machetes, switchblades, knives etc.

 

It is also illegal to carry a knife in plain view be it of less than 3 inches, so how are you gonna hide a machete anyways?

And that is a clearly terrible law on this server.  Hiding a machete isn't that difficult either considering it's about the same length as a sawed off shotgun which is concealable. In real life to legally have it it needs to be holstered (Large unfolding knives, 4-5+, tend to come with sheathes) or brandished and serving a purpose. Machetes unlike almost all the other bladed weapons are utilitarian as their primary purpose and that's why they are most commonly bought. The law for it on the server is a lazy approach to confronting legal issues and avoids police having to actually understand how to apply legal context in dynamic situations. The law does not take into account that 75% of the land map is a rural setting that wouldn't be subjected to the same local ordinances as a heavily urbanized area where a machete doesn't serve a purpose.

This needs to be implemented ASAP. The server shouldn't have to wait - it's only a few lines of code and there's no wider consideration.

A golf club has the same range and damage as a bat. Why should it not be purchasable? More RP opportunity with it as well. Some of the more lethal suggestions, yeah, maybe they could be delayed for balancing.[though personally I don't see why not].

 

But we need: Pipe wrench, pool cue, GOLF CLUB [ ?️‍♂️?  ], 

and we could possibly do with the broken bottle being implemented in a special way, rather than shops.

 

Broken bottle: Have a bottle item, RPly, and use a command to transform it into a weapon - temporarily existing for 15 minutes or so, so it's not hoarded or otherwise abused [pretty silly dudes walking about with broken bottles] but it would be very good for spur of the moment type things.

A switchblade is legal to possess if you don't use it for crimes, so why is it obtained through illegal means?

 

Also, I'm tried of seeing every gangbanger holding a baseball bat. Knives are easily obtained IRL, why are they so restricted on the server? I see more guns than knives.
