learn english through gta world?

Recommended Posts

GTAW is a great way to learn English! I’ve roleplayed with a few people who weren’t fluent in English and struggled a bit… BUT everyone is very understanding when it comes to this type of stuff and are always willing to help. So, to answer your question… YES!

I learned most of my English on GTA World, a few months, and you'll pick up the pace. Also, go to populated places like a bar (not a nightclub, 90% of the time people are just dancing and whispering or AFK) or any place where people RP a lot. You can learn a lot just by reading the /me's and stuff.

This is a good place to continue learning and practicing your understanding and writing skills too. When I joined back then, I never roleplayed in an English server (My native language is Spanish). I wasn't confident enough, and it took me some time to get loose and start to interact with people.

With the time I spent here, I can confidently say that I learned a lot!

Good day! I'm not sure if this topic is still active, but I wanted to write anyway. I've been in RP for a long time, and this will be a first for me. Any advice you can offer on improving my English will be very helpful.

When I first started, I always had a translator and google with me in case I needed to translate anything. There's gonna be jargon you don't understand, and some that you do. Google is useful for that. Other than that, enjoy yourself! People are usually pretty nice and are willing to help, that's my experience in the server.

Engaging with more people is key, you will learn more jargon, abbreviations, ways to say stuff that, (at least in my case) you may have never seen before. It is pretty fun!

This too, this will help tons with your English! You learn a lot from reading through what other people do, if you're unsure of what something means, translate it and keep it for future use!

hey there, my question may sounds weird but i have to ask it

im searching a good text roleplay server and i’ve known gta world for a while, the text roleplay servers are pretty bad in my country, but unfortunatelly my english skills is a bit low

i mean I can understand most of the things, but I have a hard time expressing myself, you know

so my question is, is it possible to learn English while playing on the server? how accepting is the community with this? btw i already have an account

sorry for these strange questions, and thanks for your answers

welcome to the club brother, I'm here since 2020 started without even knowing how to conjugate the verb to be. sometimes i still fuck something up, but I'm proud of what i learned till now, people will make fun of u sometimes can't lie to u, but don't even bother ab em, do what u like.

I myself did not know English when I started roleplaying in 2009-2010 on SA:MP LS-RP. I made a foreign character, considering my English skills were not up to par with the server standards and that is how I got away with it. It is definitely something you should try to do, should you not know English very well. While I did this, I took information in of how others were speaking and this ultimately is how I learnt English.

I hate seeing people get banned for issues like these, as this is one of the best learning platforms for it. You're able to do what you enjoy, which is to roleplay, and learn the English vocabulary while you're doing it. I also know a handful of people who came to this community with broken English, and a year later, they speak it almost fluently in chat and in voice chat.
