Akio
A basic understanding of English and it's grammar comes in handy in order to play. But some people then to build on that simply by playing as they understand it more and more. Remember it's a marathon not a sprint. You don't need to be an A+ student in English when you start but you can sure work your way towards it. Link to comment
nwiomii
Keep in mind that if you're going to play in here, you'll be practicing your english skills nonstop so... It kinda makes sense. I know too many people that improved their english skills by playing on this server or other similar servers. If it works as an answer it can help, but... You need a basic knowledge of english to get started, I guess, i don't think you can really improve in a language that you barely know how to speak properly. Link to comment
chocomint
started from the bottom and now i'm an admin, if i made it? you can make it too 😄 the hardest part of this challenge (and what I gathered from other foreigners also learning English through GTA:W) was American slang, as if they were learning a new language on top of English 1 Link to comment
_187
definitely brother, as long as people can understand you and you understand them, you will take it far Link to comment
Astra
It's 100% a good way to practice and learn more English. Even as a native speaker, I occasionally come across a word or two that I need to look up. The community here is very accepting and won't make fun of you for your English skills. If you made an error and someone points it out, don't feel bad. Just use it as a learning opportunity! Everyone has to start from somewhere. Link to comment
demia
as long as you've got a basic understanding of english it should be a good tool to help you learn the language and expand on your knowledge. obviously if you come into the server knowing little to no english it's not going to be of much help but from what i'm reading, your english is at a decent level so you're good. the commmunity is very accepting of players who have a little issue with english. have fun bro Link to comment
Skydeluire
Personally, I truly believe that as long as you're actively roleplaying and researching how to improve, given the English level you displayed in this post, you will be okay! Best of luck and I do hope to see you around in the server. Edited July 2 by Skydeluire Link to comment

You will be challeneged sometimes though, some people like to show off their writing n use words you've probably never heard of yet. Good way to learn tho 🙂 Link to comment
flrkflar
My advice for you is - and that is something that helped me personally grow a better understanding in English vocabulary and diversifying the way I structure my sentences: Use a dictionary. Honestly. There is not a single day going by where I don't have a dictionary open in my browser while playing the server. You will forget stuff, you will try to think of words to use but can't get a grasp of how its written or in what context it can be applied, you will want to experiment with different synonyms, and that is where the dictionary is going to be your saving grace. There is no shame in using one, there is nothing wrong with taking a little longer to write out a response in game; it's a roleplay server. People stem from all kinds of backgrounds around the globe, nobody is perfect, sometimes not even those native to the language. Just hop on the server, make a character and enjoy yourself. If people raise a concern with it, kindly make them aware of you still learning. As many of my precursors mentioned, people will generally show themselves understanding and even offer to help make you get a grasp of the situation. Don't be afraid to ask for help either, may it be in /b or just PMing the people you RP with. You'll do just fine, champ! Edited July 2 by flrkflar Link to comment
Mobb Skit
I've met many people with many deficiencies in English but like, if you're RP'ing with a faction and you tried to talk to conversate with the Leadership to guide you around, teach you things; that would be the best choice. People on GTA:W are open, and help in most situations, so yeah! I consider that you can learn English/develop your English skills through GTA:W. 😀 Edited August 2 by Mobb Skit Link to comment
