Extending the recommended amount of /vbreaking you can do without getting banned

I recently asked in a /helpme if i'd be wrong for breaking into cars since the lockpick timer is only 10 min (if this is the case just make the lockpick timers longer cause it's not in the rules and i've been banned for this unlisted rule) and the helpme responded with "Because it is unrealistic to break into more than 3 or 4 cars per 24-48 hours" He claimed that breaking into more than 4 cars is unrealistic when it really isn't unless your stealing the car that would be outrages but if your doing it for strictly loot this should be bumped up in real situations in a smash and grab or even better with a lockpick (less noise) it is a very low risk of getting caught. Even breaking into cars in game for loot or stealing it trust me it's very very low you'll get caught and even if someone sees you they just stand there every time I've been breaking into cars IN THE GAME for years on this server and only been in a shootout once cause the owner came out and upped a gun. In real life if you search up car break-ins in FL/Cali they literally walk around in a big ass group and break into cars and get like 2-3 guns a night from UNLOCKED cars in suburban neighborhoods and still don't get caught. So as I'm saying I find it very unrealistic to only be allowed to break into 3-4 cars per 1-2 days without getting in trouble. It's insane that illegal rp'rs are limited to 3-4 cars it takes hours to even get lucky with finding something now I'm not saying its very hard to get a gun a day but those cars are usually in riskier areas and still takes a very long time to find. Also I don't know if cops just ignore the little masked up dude breaking into a car or don't see us but i've never been caught by a cop doing this even when I got into a shootout with the owner of a car and killed her.(she came out with a gun and if I died I would have ck'd already had mines in my hand that I got from a truck)

 

-What I mean by "unlisted rule" is it doesn't say a specific number and I take my character's life into consideration when breaking into car's from cops and owners or captain. save a hoe

 

Now I get how this could be annoying for legal rp'rs but if legal rp'ers would take some time to park somewhere they car is less likely to get broken into before logging or entering a interior this wouldn't be a issue especially if you think we give any fucks about a camera being there unless the criminal breaking in is just a crash out it still happens in real life a masked up group in a car will come by and smash the window with a bipper take a bag or something in sight and drive off it get's worse if there in a group cause they won't give a flying fuck your looking or recording.

 

Fuck it just make every car have a default alarm like in real life and remove the limit since we don't even have bippers or limit players to 3-4 per hour (for max /vbreakin which is actually very realistic

If the same amount of players engaging in vehicle burglaries would be stealing from 10 or 15 times the amount of vehicles compared to what's parked on the street in the server, then we could be onto something. But as it stands now, if this limit is to be extended, the average player's car is going to be broken into way too many times. We've had these issues a few years back, before the break in restrictions, and it was not a good situation. This has a balance that's pretty good.

 

Besides, what are you trying to achieve here anyway? Is it really realism that you're after? Or are you just OOCly chasing guns?

MJ's point is correct. That's roughly 30-40 vehicles, per day, if 10 players engaged in a similar concept. On a server with roughly 600 active players, that's nearly 1 out of 20 vehicles being robbed, on a daily basis. It's good enough.

So much passive RP or other creative alternatives of illegal RP that one could fulfill during those cooldowns.

Now, divide 26,770 with 600... that's 44.61 vehicular break-ins per year. Our server already surpasses that. It's fine as it is. Even with OUR "40 vehicular burglaries per day" statistic, which is all speculative, it'd lead to 14,600 per year on a server of 600 active players (With L.A. having roughly 3.9 million residents). Bet the stats are higher, though, in the case of Los Santos. Either way, it's fine as it is... balanced and realistic in terms of the condition of our server.

ok but not everyone knows how to break into car, not every single character is gonna be into cars, or even wanna break in or steal them

go ahead and list them of some other ways to get items if your a illegal rper especially black your probrobly never gonna get close to a gun plug your just gonna be in a constant loop of getting robbed and possibly shot and yes this is about guns cause I haven't met a person beside me that sells guns to people icly with no ooc connections most of the gun plugs only sell to there members and ooc friends especially in the black and Mexican rp it's probably easier if your white or Caucasian or Asian << all the other rpers fucked it up for everyone else so I get why they don't wanna sell anything to black illegal rpers

yall are just shit at picking spots to park at my car's never been stolen or broken into all my years on the server i've had my car stolen once cause i left it open and the person just hopped in the car no rp and got ajailed yall needa learn how to defend yall property but again this is california on this sever i've shot players and the cops literally didnt show up at all on both occasions I had to go to the police station and tell them what I did and they didn't really care IT SHOULD BE A RISK EVERYTIME LEAVING UR CAR OUT if you park at the right spots and every car had a alarm illegal rpers wouldn't even try to break in your car every gun i've gotton was in ducked off spots cause no ones gonna touch your car parked on a main street thats busy

I RP an illegal black char and have purchased firearms from suppliers, all from suppliers who were black. None of them were "OOC Friends", but I.C. friends developed overtime... make connections.

You think so, but many do and many abuse it for OOC assets.

I roleplayed as a black character that was also old, didn't have any of the advantages most (M) characters had, and he not only got by stealing within the car theft limit, he ended up making a pretty lucrative car theft ring with a tight crew that knew how to get things done. You know what we didn't do? We didn't come to the forums to ask the standards to be dropped for us. Just ask DLimit, my position has always been in favor of making things more challenging, because car theft roleplay and crime in general was just too easy.

I parked vehicles around my character's dealership, leaving them spawned outside. Because they're business vehicles, they won't despawn, which is fine by me. They would get broken into or stolen about once every other day. Anyway, I think you just have different expectations of what this server is about. You want realism when it suits your desire for OOC assets, but you'll look away from realism when it doesn't help you towards that goal.
