I think a lot of people are just missing the point by saying "If you want to roleplay X just join PD/SD". It feels like repeating, but really: The type of player who wants to roleplay the kind of aspect provided by SASP or SAHP or some other "focused down" LEO faction is not the same kind of person who just wants to be an LSPD officer or an LSSD deputy. It's not the same public, it's not the same kind of player, it's the same type of faction.

It has nothing to do with the "quality" of people's roleplay or being "cut for being a LEO". It's just simply a different kind of group that provides a different type of roleplay for people wanting to do that.

It's straight up the same thing as saying it to illegals. You want to roleplay a county criminal group? Just join one of the nazi gangs. In essence they do the same thing, but it's a very different concept.

That's the main argument for this.

People realize SHP sit on major thru streets and traffic people right, not just a physical highway? They tend to do a lot of county trafficking for places that have townships and no local police, and the county is too large for Deputies to do anything but patrol and answer to crime calls.

I think they see the name "highway patrol" and assume that is the sole function of the organization. CHP is de facto state police organization in California with several offices in LA county alone, they have everything from a tactical team to detectives to K9 to their own "H platoon" a la LSPD currently does. I'm not even asking for all of that, I just want to see a sub-station headed by a Captain at most comprised of 20-30 guys with a focus on patrol.

Mods? Don't worry about mods. I can make the mods, EUP already has the uniforms as it is and every car imaginable but if we need it custom tailored that still wouldn't be a problem because I made all of the new uniforms for SASP. I mean fundamentally I imagine you just need a fresh coat of paint over the current SASP faction script to make it SAHP.

I've been thinking about making an LEO character myself, but I want to just do niche things,  I don't particularly care to do the knocking down doors sort of rp, or even identifying gangs. Things like vehicle smuggling prevention, accident analysis and reporting, trucker inspections, vehicle theft reports would interest me without having to feel pressure that I need to go and help out or  that I'm neglecting a full scope of duties by remaining on scene for something that is smaller scale like that. SAHP would be ideal for that for me personally.

Speaking from experience in PD, you're more than welcome to only enforce things like that while within the traffic division, and actively encouraged to. Nobody is really going to get on your nuts if you're not responding to things that don't interest you.

I personally don't want to see any state level agency, because we have like 5 LEO factions as it is, and that's already way too many for my liking. SAPR merging into SD will be for the better, and SanFire should look into a similar change with FD. SAHP wouldn't have the chance of making it as far as SAPR did, the duties are just too conflicting with the other factions we have on this map that's way too small to fit it.

With a small difference, regarding SASP, I noticed a decline in appearance. I bike around state parks, given I live in Paleto. I was used to rangers on every corner, which made it easier for me to seek out help in the middle of the wilds. Lately not so much, but maybe it's just temporary and acitivity will spark up again. But the point I was trying to get across was exactly this, with two main LEO factions on the server, SAHP will be struggling with activity spikes.

What do you mean conflicting? Why can't SAHP coexist like LSPD and LSSD do? I feel like we're inventing worst case scenarios here.

Forgive me, but isn't there only LSPD and LSSD when we're strictly speaking about police factions? How is that overcrowded?

They're going through a modified field training program and none have passed to the point in which they're allowed to patrol on their own without an FTO. That's why the parks feel emptier right now.

The majority is going through field training so as to acclimate to the new faction, learn the lingo and procedures, and get the same experience we all got when we first joined so they're on at least the same level as our trainees when they pass. Good time to do away with some hard-learned mannerisms and procedures that no longer apply.

The activity will pick up once the PKB staff start passing through field training.
